I thought the dude's name was Kalashnikova. Or does that just mean 'Made by a dude named Kalashnikov'

Its the latter.

When a name is changed like that, it means one of two things

1. It can mean the female version of the surname. Mikhail Kalashnikov or Masha Kalashnikova
2. or its a possessive conjugation, inferring that it belongs to that name or associated with that name, i.e. "Avtomat Kalashnikova" or "Samolet Tupoleva"

The 1911 was the epitome of the US in the last century. Solid, efficient, effective and built to last forever.
