There is a texture mod that helps improve the games performance. There are some cool filter/ lighting packs out there to make the game look a lot better and help lower the games performance.

There is a slopeless mod for keeping buildings level on uneven terrain but it causes bugs inside the building sometimes.

Other than those some people really like recruitable prisoners and the flesh peeler for min maxing their squad. I haven't messed with either of those.

It's been almost a year since my last play through though so maybe they're is some new stuff.

I highly recommend building a base in the south east so you can experience the joy that is the crab tournament.

I like the screenshot seems to be keeping with the same art "theme" from the first game, just with crisper graphics. I'm prepared to lose months of my life to this. The first one was such a gem of a game.

minor kenshi 2 news. no date or anything.

Unreal 5. (unreal wasn't new news. but specifying 5 is.)
"33 people are currently working on Kenshi 2 at a consistent, solid pace."

some other interesting notes about modding, physics, world partition, etc.
What have the last couple of years entailed?
NM:
Narrative is becoming easier and easier as the years go by. The most difficult part was over with years ago - that’s the foundations; world building, fleshing, map, general plans for content, working structure. That part is super hard and horrible, makes me want to vomit.
Kinda weird to hear the narrative designer say that high level narrative building is vomit inducing.

Glad to hear they switched to UE5 a year ago. Wayyyy better than hearing they're making the switch now or plan to in the future.

Super hyped for this game. They should release it when it's ready and no sooner.

I downloaded this again last week and have been working on getting my base to the point where it can survive overnight with no casualty. Thus far, unsuccessful. This game hasn't lost any of its shine for me and is still just as enjoyable.

I wish someone would make a game that's like a blend of kenshi, xcom 2 and shadow of mordor/war.

Super hyped for this game. They should release it when it's ready and no sooner.

They can release it as soon as they think its good enough, the first game was in early access for many years, and during that time it was always fun.

I don't need a 100% complete story or quests, since I'm just going to do my own thing anyway.

I finally "beat" Kenshi earlier this year, took out all the major factions and boss enemies. 10/10 game with hundreds or thousands of hours of content. I can't wait for Kenshi 2.

What's the ideal base population?

....not counting the 25 or so skeletons i got from black desert city, which i think was a mod or something.

How do I automate the robotics bench and storing outputs? Components need other robotics components and the storage for this table takes all components, soo.....

Do i just make a separate bench for each component and ignore storage, so that each component is available to be grabbed right off the bench?

Base size will vary as you want. You can just empty it out, when exploring. or, have a skeleton crew, and just have them run and hide, if the base is attacked while the fighting force is away. then there is also a point, where gear and skill lets your forces defend themselves against most raids safely.

1 dedicated cook early game. later you might want 1 dedicated cook, 1 breadmaker/with cooking backup.
1 weaponcrafter, 1 armor crafter imho. usually have them going nonstop as soon as iron is up and running. to skillup. also selling weapons/katanas is op.
1 farmer, adding them periodically. note. BAD farmers damage crops. so this is one where skill matters. and sending low skilled farmers to "help" probably isnt helping. 2 high skilled farmers can do like 8 xl fields.
2-3 dedicated iron/stone. with the fighter squads helping out here.
2-4dedicated gaurds. turrets are fun. but honestly can be not really worth it. turret problems: "dedicated standing around". versus a "guard" that is busy farming/or mining until trouble shows up. Best, when used to shoot behind closed gates. but doesn't actually kill large groups fast enough to stop them from busting down the gates. and requires keeping the gates shut, preventing visitors. Friendly fire. turrets can FF and have a high chance of one shotting allies. especially true of harpoons.

just robotics bench and robotics storage should do it. just need to queue up the crafting in proper order. craft the motors, limbs, etc,and they will store them in the storage, then "robotics components" they will pull them out.
