G502 X Gaming Mouse | Logitech G

Ideal Mouse:

- 2 side/thumb buttons minimum
- DPI buttons
- Wired
-Ergonomic-ish

I've never had a logitech mouse last more than a year. 1.5 years if I were lucky. I use the Naga Trinity. It's been going strong for ~5 years now. You can swap out the left side for different scenarios. The razer software is pretty solid, and you can customize the buttons to best fit you.

I'm still pissed the Naga hex thumb button layout hasnt been more widely adopted. Every other 6+ thumb button layout has just been ass.

I think I used the Logitech G600 for 15+ years of WoW and it worked great (2 mice over that time period). If anything, the ring finger button was the most uncomfortable part of it and for normal games the thumb buttons could cause a bit of hand fatigue on the thumb (after 6+ hour gaming sessions). For WoW it was great and I can't go back to playing without one (so I don't play WoW anymore).

They stopped making it so I tried to solder new better buttons to fix it, but couldn't get it to work. Now I've been using a Naga Basilisk and it's lasted over two years now, just fine.

Just got done building this to use at work. Womier real wood base, combination of MOA profile faux wood and green jelly pbt dye sub keycaps, and using durock ice king tactile 68gr switches. I might swap out the faux wood accent keys for something else eventually, especially since the real wood and faux wood aren't a perfect color match, but for now this works.

It’s an Eorzea map I got back around the time Dawntrail dropped. It is the Tri Continent version, I have the older OG map mat here at work.

And where would someone purchase said mouse pad. Doesnt look like an "official" one?

Looks like that seller may be defunct now, but I got it from Amazon in 2024.

Awesome, probably some of the same people listing them on Etsy and some of the other craft websites.

I did not realize how good I had it....

Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus , some number of years ago, did a kickstarter for a "fancy mouse", and gave it to me. I've used that little workhorse for years now, and it started flaking out (would disconnect and then reconnect itself rapidly and the OS would say "That USB device is going nuts, I'm going to stop recognizing it" until I unplugged it for 5 minutes and reattached it). I think when I recently spilled a drink on my desk some moisture got into it. I figure "If it was a kickstarter something like 5-6 years ago it will have to be in production now, I'll just go buy another".

I go to look it up, as I had never done that before and it's one of these :

I now realize I have the most expensive mouse I have ever owned, and I need to go get another.

Pros : Having a thumbstick on the side where my thumb is has wholly changed everything from web browsing to gaming for me.

Meh : The thing also can "tilt actuate" as another joy stick. Literally lean the mouse forward, back, side to side, and that's another joystick. I haven't used this as much, but tinkered with it some with CAD and 3d software as it's essentially like having a second joystick.

Combined with my G13 and I have more hand controller options than I know what to do with.
