Not only is that super well done, I really wish I could have bought into this game at that backer price. It looks AMAZING.

That was why I backed it. I'm not super sold on the gameplay - it sounds like they were still developing the game and rules when they game founded it, but I mean, it's pretty reasonable for what you get.

Hopefully it doesn't suck. Guess we'll find out in a month or so!

I imagine it will be good, they have a great track record with their games.

That's actually part of the strategy of a successful campaign, because we live in a world of (useless) metrics. The only way it could be more gay and worthless is if it integrated GDP somehow.

Content looks cool as usual. Hate how they bundled the accessories into character packs, I only want the sleeve but have to get acrylic and minis that I don’t want to get them. $70 vs. the $20 the sleeves usually are. Everyone’s pissed off, they should’ve got feedback about it before pulling the trigger.

Honestly, DT sleeves are a fucking ripoff and a half. Just order generic sleeves and pretend they don't even offer them.

The only bigger joke at this point is their dice trays, which started off being velvet and sturdy and ended up being a mouse pad with snaps that you turned into a bowl.

Game is pretty awesome. The tutorial is straight shit, but if you can get past that, you're in great shape.

I haven't played a ton of games, so I don't know if anything else shares these mechanics, but it's pretty interesting. You start with a weapon and armor, each with abilities on them. The weapon and armor dictate your starting dice. You roll dice, match die faces to abilities. When you can't anymore, your turn is over and then the monsters go. Killing monsters has a unique system for increasing your power - you either get a new ability, or a new die, but the trade-off is that the more powerful you get, the more dangerous you are to yourself and others.

It's a boss battler, so it's one of those games where 6 things go wrong every turn, and you can deal with about 4 of them, so it gets pretty chaotic, and it can be pretty nail biting. We're about 4 games in and finally starting to figure out all the various mechanics and strategies.

Only complaint is how long it seems to take to setup and play. Makes Gloomhaven look like a casual party game.
