Is says that internet polls have such a level of self-selection bias that their results should be tossed out sight unseen, that the gamers voting for EA literally don't have a clue about reality at large, given the above that any group running (and promoting the results of) such a poll has nothing to offer anyone, and anyone crowing about the results because they hate group X isn't saying anything hundreds of thousands+ of people aren't also saying.

It goes without saying that EA is the worst video game company in existence. That probably isn't even a debatable point any longer. But yes, I can see your point where priorities are off.
But I disagree that these polls have nothing to offer anyone. At least it holds (I would like to assume) some asshat within that company responsible when stocks take a dump.

EA producers are yes men who never fight the system back for the sake of their development team to make a creative/fun game while keeping them on task. If they say anything, they get shit-canned and someone else gets placed in that won't rock the system. Supposedly Dead Space 3 would have been even worse than it already was. They fought for not adding co-op, and microtransactions. EA was having none of that though because if a game doesn't have some type of multiplayer, it won't be successful. Then when a game comes out within weeks that disproves that retarded theory, (Hello Bioshock Infinite) they say it's an anamoly and not indicative of the market.
Dude just stfu. For every once in a decade turn EA manages to polish to a diamond doesn't forgive all the complete and total ridiculous bullshit they've done year after year after year.
Just go look on wiki at the number of studios they've absorbed into their corporate blob. Look at the titles they've whored and hollowed out. Whatever you "feel" concerning large publishers is apparently way off the fucking mark.

Valve would be the obvious /v/ love company but Rockstar or CD Projekt RED or Naughty Dog or hell, many others are well liked. EA and Blizzard-Activision are really the only ones I can think of that are hated by so many right now.

Might help to actually understand what's going on with politics before an attempt at a random slam. Fox is "evil" because they present a biased variant of news, as other networks do, but they unlike the others NEVER run retractions, the others aren't perfect about retractions but at least they try.

the first result of this operation has been Ultima Ascension, one of the first games (maybe the first, not sure if Elder Scroll 3 came before) to bring us a massive 3d world to explore with an amazing graphic. A game that should have given the conclusion to one of the oldest, most epic gaming franchise of all time, and instead resulted in a broken, unplayable mess with a senseless storyline and missiing content

There are a few big publishers that don't have a long standing bad public image.Sony'sbeen liked most of the time, sans the first couple years of the PS3 launch where hubris got the better of them. They've managed to clean back up their image a lot though, especially as of late.Take-Twohas always been well regarded and holds an amazing amount of critically acclaimed games.
THQwasn't quite as massive, but they were fairly big and never outright reviled. Pitied, perhaps.
Square-Enixalso has fairly good reputations when theyaren'tbeing complete faggots. Sadly Square-Enix is certainly doing that right now with their bullshit bitching about the Eidos/Crystal Dyanmics games not selling as much as they projected. Before they spouted that nonsense people were really happy with them and how they'd been handling their western companies.
Nintendo'salso not reviled, though there's a fuckload of disappointment surrounding them.
