Sons storyline remains the worst part of the show, gets cucked by a thick Latina widow. But she at least is a realistic female character she acts like, oh every single Latina I've ever met. Except for the demanding to still work part. She would have made him move in and worship the ground she walks on but she sure is shit ain't turning down the money or demanding to work.

Cooper's story line isn't arcing, it's downward spiraling. He's gone from headstrong smart kid with solid instincts figuring shit out on his own to a cucky pussy who seems to have forgotten that Miss spicy latina bossy girl is the one who came to him for solace and almost got him murdered but has now showed him who the boss in this relationship is and has clearly explained to him that if he is super lucky she might just let him stick around to buy her new dishwashers if he plays his cards right and works his ass off to earn tiny increments of her barely tolerating his existence. She's clearly indicated how miserable the rest of his life could be and his response is to quickly don the scuba mask and dive into the shit pile.

Yeah, it's hilarious how everyone here apparently went full Don Draper in their early twenties. Dripping with rizz, drowning in women, and effortlessly charming anything with a pulse. Not a single one of you was an awkward, socially stunted introvert who smelled like Mountain Dew and motherboard solder, desperately trying to figure out what female anatomy looked like outside of Google Images. Truly, a community of legendary seducers… who coincidentally never left their elf simulator long enough to prove it.

Did you accurately describe that character? I must have missed the episode where he was Dungeon Mastering for his pals at Tech. Not even close. Dude scrambled fast and put together a huge deal, going door to door talking to hardened old ranchers and whatnot, securing land deals. That character, despite looking like a scarecrow, smells like focus, drive and self worth, more so than mountain dew and solder.

Except the show goes out of its way to establish how soft he is. His own dad wanted him out of the business because he didn't have the stomach for it, and that "I love you, Dad" moment was basically a neon sign flashing "not built for this."
He's clearly ambitious, but he's already demonstrated to this woman from the very beginning that he's perfectly willing to roll over and let her walk on him. That dynamic is baked into Season 1. The way he framed their relationship from the start has the exact energy of a desperate 22-year-old guy who thinks attention equals affection. Which is something women of any age can detect with the precision of a bloodhound.
