Yeah I'm wondering if Tommy can still be a land man and just not the president. I'm guessing that something will go horribly wrong and she will beg him to come back by the end of the season but we'll see. You know his wife is going to shit her pants if she finds out she doesn't have unlimited money anymore.
Yeah. The only Sheridan show I've made it more than two seasons on is Yellowstone and in retrospect that was a mistake. There's only so much time you can spend with his characters. They're just too over the top and stereotypical to hang with for more than a season or two but the first season is almost always fun. After that it is what it is.

I seem to remember at the end of S1 when Monty died they said MTex was wholly owned by Monty/Demi. They just made a new board on the spot in the hospital of Demi, BBT, and the lawyer. There are individuals/companies/banks that have contracts with MTex but I'm pretty sure BBT and Demi told them she's 100% the boss back in S2E1.
Sheridan likes a flawed but ultimately mary sue lead female so my prediction is being refined to Demi gets lucky with the gulf. Gallindo hires Tommy and asks him to swing things his way even if both sides are making money. Gallindo told his wife "this is the future" so I think he actually wants to be an oil tycoon and Tommy will be his (reluctant) landman mentor.

brah last night was ep 9/10 , next week is the season finale. I guess it will be BBT going to unemployment, signing up for food stamps, getting an obamaphone etc.. .

This season feels a lot slower. Some of it is entertaining but it kind of follows the sentiment that Tommy said about his father. He would do anything a pretty woman said. This season feels like a bunch of pretty woman (Sadly not Demi Moore, she used to be hot), with a bunch of minor stories. I got to the point of just fast forwarding through any of the old folks home stories. This season should be renamed to Landwoman as the oil industry only has a few scenes. The H2S leak was a what the fuck moment. Those people in the hunting truck responded just as I would have if I had seen that guy drop. I would have also thought heart attack and I actually did. That would have sucked.
I enjoy it enough, but to this point it is not as good as season one was. Hopefully the last two episodes make a difference?

Oh, thought it was two. That is going to have to be one hell of an episode to make up for the crawl pace up to this point.
I will watch it but I do not have high hopes. Makes me glad that Mayor of Kingstown got a lot better. That is pacing done right.

I don’t get it? The guy who attempted to rape her in the ally. Was he sitting there waiting until she came out alone, to make a phone call so he could make his move? No one noticed him loitering ? They always show that place super busy but no one parks or is in the back? And the ding dong boyfriend has perfect timing?
The daughter is 18, the mother is providing alcohol for several minors, students athletes none the less, at a public place.
This show is just one completely unfathomable scenario after another.
At least to explain why an insurance company just wrote a check for 400 million they said, well shit this makes nonsense not sure why it happened.
I’ve been to Ricks more times than I can count. Strippers at ricks don’t look like that. And further more they show up at 10 pm don’t hang out in the middle of the day. They’re still coming down or passed out drunk when the suns up. Ask jonny26 or what ever the dudes name was who has the thread about all the hookers.

She had previously embarrassed him when he tried to hit on her inside the bar so I can imagine that he was just waiting for her to come out alone to teach her a lesson. I think employees going out behind a bar to smoke or whatever is a very normal situation and if it opens to an alley there's probably not people out there most of the time. The hero showing up in the nick of time is just standard in TV shows and movies. Unlikely? Yeah, but it's been done a million times.
This show is a soap opera. It's not smart to think too hard about it.
