Welp for all the complaints about this season being slow, sputtering, directionless, etc (and that is a fair assessment) the finale brought it all together and made it make sense.

A season full of set backs and bad decisions which was all just set up for the real show to begin.

Strange to be looking forward to a 3rd season of a sheridan show lol, but im more invested in what happens next season than I was at the end of season 1 looking toward season 2. And certainly far better than any point during season 2

Good finale episode. I am actually looking forward to the next season now. A lot can happen. Season 2 was a slow burn but it ended well.

I know many of you enjoyed this show and this latest episode, I will hold my tongue.

My only Texas question for anyone that knows.

Do you wear Cowboy hats in a car when driving, is that a normal thing? (I assumed it was a TV thing, but not wearing hats I was curious)

I have no idea and just wondered.

I lived in Odessa Tx from age 10 - 30. Yes, the folks that wear cowboy hats pretty much wear them constantly, same as people who wear ball caps, though they tend to take them off in their homes.

Not from Texas but yeah people wear cowboy hats in cars for sure.

Just got around to watching tonight but yeah, that was a pretty damn good episode and really sets up the next season. I guess I'm probably in for a third season on a Sheridan show now.

More or less nobody in urban Dallas wears cowboy hats, but the folks who wear them (particularly west texas folks) wear them a lot. You don't see it a ton in Dallas but you see it enough that it's not like, out of the ordinary.

At least to explain why an insurance company just wrote a check for 400 million they said, well shit this makes nonsense not sure why it happened.
My understanding of this (poorly explained and contrived) plot point was that the insurance company already paid the $400M, and that it was contingent on it being spent on that well. If they don't drill the well they're going to end up having to give the $400M back, was the plot point.

Taylor Sheridan has got to be bipolar. Half of his work is 10/10, nuanced, fully realized brilliance (wind river, sicario, hell or high water)… the other half is male soap opera slop (this, Yellowstone, Kingstown).

I think it's just that he runs out of gas on the characters after the original story. Most of his shows the first season is pretty good but after the initial conflict is resolved, the characters don't develop and the clichés are harder to ignore because you see them over and over. In a movie you don't have that problem because the characters don't have to be that deep since you don't spend that much time with them.

Whenever I find myself wondering why people would bitch about this show I remember that the Big Bang Theory was popular and the Kardashians are all millionaires

Dunno how you shit on Mayor of Kingstown or Tulsa King. Both are great shows. You probably never even watched them.

Haven't watched Mayor of Kingstown but Tulsa King and Landman (Season 1, haven't watched Season 2 yet) are fun. Yellowstone started strong.
