We got a code for the Wynn and Encore to drop the price down to about $139 for their Panoramic King Suites. Which hotel is better? Thinking of doing a 7 day hike in Grand Canyon and relaxing in LV after.
Both similar but Wynn is the best.

Casino floor is very active and has lots of things happening. I now stay central when I go but if you are staying up that north, Wynn rocks.

When I go to events at the Convention Center that won't have some kind of shuttle service I like staying at the MGM. There is access to the Monorail near the Casino floor which will drop you off right in front of the Convention Center and is cheaper than say grabbing a taxi.

None that I know of. I've been looking for a while... visit LV 3 or 4 times a year since my parents live there.
Saw reviews that the Mandarin is smoke free? Dunno.

Regime: I've only been to LV once and that was to get to and from the Grand Canyon. How far north is the Wynn? Are things walkable?

Well man if you are going there to have fun I really think yes the Wynn is a bit far but it's a nice Casino. Encore may be better since its a block over and less walking. That experience up north is great though because you get to walk through the Venentian and Plazzo everyday.

It's not like staying at Cosmo/ceasers/Paris/planet Hollywood which is dead center though. Not a big deal but I would suggest you hit up the Walgreens near Ballys and stock up on water and shit for your room so if you don't feel like going out or spending $50 on room service. I think the Wynn is worth staying at least once. It's such a different perspective. If You are getting a good deal go with it. The walk is about 15 mins to central so it's not that bad considering half the walk can be done indoors.

We are thinking of doing a R2R2R hike in the Grand Canyon in either one day or two and relaxing at the hotel. Thanks much for the information. Obviously, we don't mind walking; though, we might be tired of it after doing 40+ miles in the canyon.

Not a huge deal. If you get a chance and want a taste of old Vegas, stay at the Nugget (silver Rush) or Four queens in Fremont (free side ) on Halloween.

Vegas > any place on earth for the week of Halloween.

No place comes close to Fremont. If you haven't been, just fucking go and stop by insert coins. That's where I take the boys after every Sony tournament.

Is there any major casino that is 100% smoke free?
No. But the Trump Hotel is 5 stars, with full suites (2 bedrooms 2 FULL baths) and rates are cheaper than Aria/Cosmopolitan prices. They are a block away from the Wynn, in front of the mall. Give them a shot the hotel is pretty good

Couple questions for upcoming trip that figured I'd tack on here.

1. For a day tour to Grand Canyon does south/east/west rim matter at all, and if so which is best spot to head to.
2. Is it worth paying $10.50 service fee for online ordering Ministry tickets or worth waiting till over there to grab them?

Any of you guys use Expedia? Never tried it and dont know what to expect. Looking to go to Vegas for first time and got a few hotels I'm kicking around. For 4 nights at the end of April beginning of May. 3 of us and trying to keep price down but it would be nice to be semi close to mgm

Hotel plus air from Philly.
Stratosphere $513
golden Nugget $528
Circus Circus $491

I wouldn't consider any of those close to MGM. They are all smack dab on the opposite side of the strip or further.

Anyone stayed at the Venitian recently? I am looking for a more of an upscale hotel for my next trip (not wynn upscale !) and reasonbale deal at the venitian currently, but read some recent reviews that the venitian was starting to show its age.
Anyone have any first hand opinions?

Circus Circus is a sespool and really gross. I did not even want to walk around in it...also kids..lots of kids. There is a reason you can get a $14 room on some nights.
Godlen Nugget is down town, my folks like it but its not on the strip, your going to get a older crowd here.
Stratosphere is way down on the stip and not really close to much that i can recall. I have never been in it so cant add much.

If you are on a budget i really like Luxor, excalibur is cheap but if your not into the theme you may not like it as its a bit old as well. Monte Carlo was not bad for the price and its fairly central, All 3 are near the MGM. and offer good value.

I have used Expidea.ca often and love it. My wife booked a flight last time with a 10 min layover. I phoned to change it and found out changes in the first 24 hours are free and guy found me a better flight and saved me $25.
One time we tried to go to seatle and our car broke down, they refunded us the hotel we prepaid for the same day we planed to check in. As far as online travel agents, Expidea is my fav.,

Citycenter hotels are better for right now (Aria/Cosmo)

Venitian is starting to show it's age as the reviews you have read.

I would stay at Luxor. Right next to Mandalay Bay if you like shopping at all and Tropicana is shit anyway. They re-did the whole inside bright white and its just boring there.

Thanks man. I'm looking at $731 a person for 4 nights there. Really not bad considering we getting prime flight times which is jacking price up a bit but I'd rather be in Vegas at 10am my first day and pay a little extra then 10pm and lose that day.
