It's good, still a bit too easy until you get to really high corruption, but that just means any build works just fine and you don't have to min/max.

How is it? I've been playing Grim Dawn for my ARPG fix but I might switch to this if it's good.
It’s a good game. The build system is fun because you can make a lot of things work without going deep into a build guide. A build guide does move things along faster if you’re not into doing your own builds. The crafting in LE is really well done and fun to do, unlike every other ARPG. Grim Dawn is my favorite ARPG but I’m waiting for the huge expansion that’s coming soon to play it again with the new class. Last Epoch is one I get into every year and a half or so, play the shit out of a few characters, then set it down, rinse and repeat. They add enough stuff and rework a couple classes so it’s nice to just check it out once in a while.

Has anyone got a satisfactory Heartseeker build? I tried the fire version last league and the issue is that Heartseeker can pick targets that take a while to die, eating up your recurves(for puncture procs) and delaying how long until said Punctures go off. Dragonsong is kinda a bandaid, requiring melee range(bad for rogue) and directionality. I tried a bleed version this league and the dot delay made it even worse. I was going to try transitioning into ignite prolif with the new WIldfire amulet, but apparently the prolif is gay and bad.

Trying a DW Electrify MultiSmite Paladin now, going pretty well.

New league mechanic seems a bit overtuned. And those beasts have a fucking huge hitbox.

Did they tune Nemesis monsters? Feel like I have to actually decide if my build can handle empowering them or not. At least early in the campaign.

They rebalanced the difficulty of the game overall. They wanted to smooth out progresssion and make the upper cap of corruption a bit lower. The end result is that the campaign has more difficulty, which imo, was needed since it was far too faceroll easy before. High end corruption should be more like 600-800 instead of 1800, unless there are some OP outlier builds.

I did a couple monos and now I'm done. The new chapter was mostly what i was interested in and it did not disappoint, but the league mechanic and the same old endgame doesn't drive me to grind for it.

I agree, this is pretty barebones in terms of content. I haven't fully looked at the primordial items, there might be some actual depth there.

Oh, silly me, I forgot the best update in 1.3: enemies aurally and visually shatter if frozen when killed. Best thing to have ripped off PoE.

I definitely want to try a clear-based build that freezes enemies. Any suggestions?

The good (and bad I guess) thing about this game is it's hard to make a truly "bad" build. The SSS tier builds are still steamrolling, but you can try stupid stuff and not have a terrible time - to that end, I'm running a BM Bear freeze build that's been really satisfying and fun. It deviates from the pro build, but you can basically keep stuff frozen constantly. Only issue I have with is the Bear itself can be annoying as he goes off on his own at times and I'm constantly further ahead clearing than the pet.

Yeah, I was thinking LL Falconer that throws traps that throw traps that throw flasks that are converted to cold. I really liked that build in 1.1 I think, but they've decided to murder it in the worst way possible by making the mana costs obscene. This game needs a few more options when it comes to dealing with resource costs.

I was playing Beastmaster with crows converted to cold, thorn totem converted to cold, and avalanche and it was freezes galore. I didn't even go all in on avalanche with spellpower because I was going to swap to poison scorpion, but I ended up going nearly all the way with just the cold stuff, it was great.

If you actually built around avalanche as a pure caster it should be pretty insane.
