Servers are down for ~ 3 hours, with almost no notice. Discord is melting, pretty funny, but to be honest I'm REALLY hanging out to get back in too... think I'm addicted.

Not sure how far into the campaign I am, just got out of the Solarium (?) place with the big sword fire guys. Level 50'ish. Pretty sure I have the gimpiest Warlock skeleton / golem / mage build possible, but it doesn't really seem to matter. Most of my gear I haven't touched since like level 12 also. Kind of waiting until the end game runs to really care or "optiimize" anything. Nice seeing all the changes since Beta and the spots that are still familiar from years ago.
Try building an exploding zombie build. That shit was hilarious and fun.

I just picked up the skill where if a skele dies it creates an exploding zombie, that does sound hilarious. My golem and skele and whatever are spec'd into Fire so I was going Pyro build mostly, but my points are all over the place.

From an item perspective is +minion damage what scales that, +elemental / +fire, or both? I'll start watching some videos after I wrap up the campaign.

Thanks!

There are several ways to build one. I can’t really advise because it’s been a year or so since I last played. I did see there are lots of updated versions though.

Pushed a sentinel to 800 corruption while trying out javelin, judgement, warpath, smite builds. Then went for the opposite of unkillable and was pushing rogue to 300 while trying out ballista, hail of arrows, puncture builds before I wondered why I'm still playing this. I have played primalist, mage and acolyte in the past so didn't feel like spinning them up again for the new patch.

Overall the quality of life in the game is absurdly high and I would say it's the best in the genre overall in almost every metric. I love the CoF faction since trade is fake and gay in ARPGs. Weaver addition made for some interesting shit using the lostwood folly tech to level fast to 100. Most of the bosses were OK and while I didn't do uber abberoth the fight just looks like an OP build check more than anything else and I would have just killed it on sentinel so it wouldn't even matter since you can half afk it.

The gear and gameplay however still bores me to death and I think it's just due to the nature of the game never changing from like one hour in until entirely too late to matter. I could just close my eyes and hold down movement and clear ability and congrats I win. Zero risk of dying, shit dies fast if you are remotely competent at reading skills/passives and so much power comes from your skills/passives that wearing almost any random trash will likely get you to at least 100-200 corruption. I think I read they want to rush you into monos quicky, but god damn it's like playing cookie clicker for 99% of the game time and that ain't doing it for me. There is no shot I'm going to invest 40+ hours to get to the corruption levels where the game feels like I finally need to tweak and invest time into gear and build. If this is it's final form then I got a good enough chunk of enjoyment out of it from the new game smell, but I'll likely not even give it the D3 seasonal treatment going forward. Hopefully some intrepid ARPG studio that may be based in New Zealand actually copies the good shit from this game and we might have a truly BIS modern ARPG.

Advantage of offline mode, doesn't matter what the fuck they're doing I was still playing. Lots of ppl saying they probably took the servers down without warning because they're fixing some exploits for merchant shit.

Normal offline mode works if the Auth Server is up, which it wasn't. Steam "full" offline mode works, but you have to roll a new character, no stash access etc so I didn't bother.
I got over the wait and just went to bed =)

Actually I thought they were separated but the other day I checked and at least I can use my local full offline chars in the fake offline mode. Not sure if it works the other way around but I assume it does. Actual online obviously doesn't work since the saves aren't even saved locally but I think the 2 offlines are functionally the same, just one requires the login server for no advantage(can't even use cosmetics)

They need to just stop confusing people with the fake offline mode in that normal launcher. Its very stupid that actual offline mode is "full offline" in the steam settings.

I dont get how that isn't fixed yet. It's a holdover from them screwing up the offline mode at launch and having to throw together that steam launcher "fix"

Of course you're right, sorry. I tested it (?) when I bought the game, but it's clear now that whatever I sprinkled on my Corn Flakes that morning... it wasn't sugar.

Is there a skill/build that is comperable to Lunge? I'm playing an Ignite/Fire Sentinel that somewhat reliably hits those cooldown reducing melee attacks on Lunge so that any time I need to use a mobility skill to close to the next target, I have a charge available most times. I've played a Sorc and teleport and flame rush cannot be relied upon in the same manner. Falconer with Aerial Assault comes close, especially if you reduce its cooldown with explosive trap but they've nerfed the mana cost on that build yet again.

Well usually the other skills are better than Lunge because they can be used without targets, but if you're constantly going from target to target nothing beats Lunge reset I think. Fury Leap maybe but I don't think many ppl actually spec into the cd reduction, it has a similar one where it has 20% chance to reset the cd after killing enemies(with a 5secs cd though so if you're moving really fast it still will be on cd). I think for the most part it's "fixed" by just getting good movespeed, haste and possibly swiftness so you can move quickly between movement skill usage.

Rogue has a few. Shift innately is awesome for movement.
smoke bomb can be built to have movement.
Lethal Mirage is flickerstrike. (with a CD)
sych strike has movement built in.
dancing strikes has movement built int.

I don't remember having this issue in LE 1.1. Right click to start an echo and the game visually pauses for a few seconds before the loading progress indicator appears. I don't have this problem in the campaign. Feels reminiscent of PoE1 around Betrayal where they just started adding more and more (potential) content to the game so each map had to load a retarded amount of data. PoE1 never recovered, performance wise, I eventually broke down and bought a new computer as even loading into other people's hideouts was tens of seconds.

Tombs of the Erased really that much extra content in terms of textures and such?

Try rebooting. LE still has memory leak issues and isn't very well optimized

It's consistently every echo from start to finish of a play session. I checked memory consumption at some point yesterday, it was around 6GB. I don't recall my system overall usage, I'll check that next time.

I haven’t experienced that yet but will look out for it more. Seems pretty smooth to me and performance was better than PoE 2.

Hit 72 or 73 last night. Still not really sure what I’m doing other than clearing these monolith maps and I started doing as many Weaver maps as I can to get points. Pretty sure I really need to start crafting new gear or figuring that out. Chain running the second map area bc I read it has a nice +minion damage Echoe but so far no luck. Just a lot of crap I need to read about and how to min/max some things probably. No idea how to really raise corruption, or what empowered monos are, or juicing maps for better drops. I just run around and kill things.

Finally got to pushing corruption. Funny enough damage seems to be easy for me to come by but defense is my current blocker to progress. A much different dynamic then poe which is so feast or famine on defense that you never feel like you can tweak a little here and sacrifice a little there. Anecdotally of course, I could be wrong in this.

Is there a better way to shop CoF prophecies? Go to the Oasis, socket lenses, refresh, visually filter icons on color and shape, mouse over remaining ones as some share icons(1H sword, 2H sword, melee weapon for example), then decide if the prophecy's requirements are applicable to where you might be farming. Or maybe don't because trying to get all your prophecies to a certain corruption and monolith seems to lead to boring refresh spam.

The clunk alone makes me want to do merchant's guild instead, but I foresee a lack of tab rotation(I'm not actually sure this is true) and changing my filter for what the market wants makes that seem unappealing as well.
