Can someone tell me what the experimental items are for? Just pulling the stats off?

Experimental affixes cannot exist as affix shards, they are only available on experimental items dropped by imprisoned mages.

Frenzy or Haste on Traversal can be useful. LL Ward builds used to be popular, not sure anymore with Int -> Ward Retention getting halved.

I think I read somewhere that you can craft experimental affixes on items in weaver echoes, but I'm not certain of that.

Ward per missing health, Haste and Frenzy are all very useful

Armor applies to DoTs is extremely useful

Minion teleport is nice for minion builds

Mana gain on potion use has some niche uses

Lots of them are useful but not necessarily something you'd try to build around. Armor applying to DoTs is probably the most universally useful, though they toned DoTs down in this patch as well.

Ward per missing health is just a bit OP when you combine a T1 affix with leech.

I was right, you can craft Experimental affixes onto boots in one of the weaver echoes. It replaces, at random, one of the prefixes and requires at least some forging potential.

How do people push high corruption so fast? I'm getting maybe 20 corruption per timeline completion and that 30m if I'm really going fast.

I need some goals to keep grinding monoliths. +gooder is not enough. This endgame somehow feels grindier than PoE1's endgame. Is there some item that changes how a build plays but is only achievable through farming? Something like a Mageblood but it doesn't have to be that ridiculous. That relic from Abberoth kinda fits the bill since Haste is difficult to maintain in some contexts.

Yeah there are build changing/enabling items. The end game is (or was a year ago when I last played) really just trying to farm for specific ones to change your current character or for another build. The main problem I think is there aren’t a ton, and some are not drastic changes like other games like PoE or D3. There wasn’t a ton of incentive to grind for them, for me personally. Every time I play I play a few builds across a few characters, I get to the end game with one of them, grind for a couple specific items, get bored and quit for a year before I do it again.

Take a junk item you don't need and use a few glyphs of envy on it until you max out your stability or you run out of forging potential, then kill the boss of the timeline, do this until you have 4x gaze of orobyss and then run monos until you find the shade of Orobyss and kill him. That will consume the 4x gazes you built up and give you a bunch of corruption.

Thanks. There are some glyphs I've never used. Doesn't seem intuitive to use the crafting system to boost corruption.

Does anyone know the rule for gambling uniques in the context of boss drops? If only mono and or dungeon bosses drop the item you need, can you get it as a reward from either rune of ascension, prophecy or the soul gambler? I know Abberoth items are obviously off the table.

Huh? How!
Because crafting is for items you wear. To pick up a random item to essentially drain its forging potential for corruption to then immediately toss the item feels counterintuitive. You're doing some arbitrary crafting on the item, but afaik, no one uses glyphs of envy for actual item crafting.

Yeah, I really like this game, but when the shine fades, it does so immediately and completely. Same thing happened with my first char in their original release.

And I am pretty sure if I went back to my post when I was done playing then, I say the same thing - I just lost interest in the monolith grind practically from one moment to the next and didn't log in anymore. At least then I got to 100 to say I did, now I barely make it to 90-95.

The same thing happens to me in PoE 1 as well, but it generally takes a lot longer.

Not sure what secret sauce this game is missing for me - might be the fact that the gear progression at this point is so slow as to be almost non-existent. And I still only have 2600 hps, so I need the same stats I have on my gear, PLUS health before I can push deep into corruption.

When I fall back on playing War Thunder when I get home from work, I am out of interest for current gaming. It's my fall-back stand-by.

But now it is off to play Abiotic Factor with my kid..........
