Played it for a little bit. It just reminds me of when you first start a new hobby or job and it's your first product. You are like ok not bad I can do a lot better when I get some experience under my belt. Then a couple years down the road you look back at your first project and realized how basic and lame it was. That's this game.

The player base looks low but it has good reviews. Maybe this one will stick around. If only those pesky journalists would wait until their first expansion patch they may have a chance.

I'd play it, if I werent playing MnM.. but I just like to point and shoot people in the face; taking their shit is just icing.. on top of talking shit to console players; idk what beats that imo..

Realistically, while whatever can be said good/bad.. it just needs to stay in the 20-30k steam player and the game will be perfectly fine.. once it starts dipping below that, it'll start to feel empty for a pvp lobby type of game... I'm not entirely sure how to factor console numbers, but I always imagined it was closer to x2 the steam player count but thats really only based around queue times in other games with crossplay.

While limited examples, but games like PUBG, DnD, and The Cycle.. feel fantastic to play per player count with above 20k, when it starts to dip below it's still playable.. but "quiet." Without hard research, the estimate I saw pubg is 7-10% of the total is NA and they backfill with bots during the low hours. Tarkov is also noticable in the same regard with primetime versus off hours like deep in the AM. Essentially there is a healthy number and a number in which the game loses all of its fun because its either nobody around or the sweatiest of sweats are dash cancelling through your screen..

Hard to gauge Arc Raiders atm.. because while its 3am on a Tuesday, it feels like it gets quiet then out of nowhere your average degerenate cod lobby pops off with open mic throwin slurs.. 200k player count, quite literally feels like you're kicking sand in peoples faces.. So many people are so fucking bad at video games. Bless a lack of, or abusable mmr lobbies.

Yeah this is worse than I thought. It cannot even break 100k on the first weekend and declining from Thursday.

Steam purchases estimated at 300-310k. No announcement of anything over a million unit mark yet so consoles must be under 700k if Lenas Lenas
Is right about the 30/70 split.

I can’t imagine how Sony keeps this afloat without any return unless people are dumb enough to buy 20 dollar outfits. (Which some are)

It needs 8-10 million units to break even.

Surprised they haven’t cancelled their upcoming failure with the Horizon live service game. Unless they have stop/started it already and are transitioning it to a single player sequel - which won’t end well unless delayed 5 years for a a complete redesign of preproduction which stop starts rarely do well.

The problem with Sony recognizing their issues and changing course is the same problem we see with Amazon and Disney continuing to produce shit no one wants: they can subsidize it with profits from other business units. It is the reason conglomerates eventually produce absolute dogshit. If you are not trying your best to produce high quality things then you are going to produce shit and excuse it because your department will exist even in the face of extreme failure. StS2 and Mewgenics do not have that luxury.

I really want this to succeed. If just for the sake of the next single player fps Destiny type Bungie game. Saturday morning you’d think quite a few would be playing on steam maybe? Nope. 54k 33rd place. For comparison AR is at 165k. Hopefully it picks up pace as the day goes on or maybe there are a whole lot more console players than PC

This isnt Bungie anymore. the real Bungie either all left or were fired by now. This shit is like Blizzard right now, co-opted by the DEI "women in gaming" "queers" "faggots" and the like. This shit is done. It is no longer games made by gamers for gamers like it used to be.

I think sony had it coming, console and whatever exclusive they think had resulted in total lost of momentum. nothing to spring board into the next era. look how they fudge out Aloy into a fat fuck. At least nintendo had brains to keep their mascots prestine for without them there is nothing to show for.

sony playstation guys just needs to be fired outright.

mostly serious question, does anything cool happen in this game? 99.9% of everything i have seen as been negative. the only highlight was some guy making it to the extraction point with no time left.

If the game wasn't an extraction shooter, and if the lego-esque aesthetic wasn't so strong, I'd play it.

As I said before, if the game was like Witchfire (everyone show play it, btw), I'd be playing.

That game is going to be an abortion and its failure is going to be biblical.

I'm really looking forward to that Horizon game releasing. The content creators will have a field day with it. So sick of the mobile game art style trash, this one even has that Dreamworks Smirk on every character

What should be worrying for Sony (Unless they just plan at throwing loads of cash at shit for years across all their studios) are the lows in concurrent players - That is actually where the lead indicators are of where the game is trending. And that just dropped from 35k to 25k in one night. One would think they would have announced 1 million in unit sales across all platforms as well. Out of 600 friends on PS5 (Finally booted it up) I saw 3 friends owned the game. Zero on Xbox.

There is something unique there though that no one is used to yet, and that is cancellation of the subscription services to enable them to play online - more than half my friends list now do not have a subscription to any PS Plus subscription of any tier which is required to play Marathon obviously. And even more so on the Xbox console. So my guess is what were traditionally strong console sales for bungie is no longer the case as a result of the pay wall for online being cancelled in mass as people are tired of it. That has a major trickle down effect in which games are being purchased.
