Asking for a fully separate PVE sandbox in an extraction shooter is pretty retarded.

This new mode seems like a pretty good way to introduce baby bitches to one of the best maps ever made though. Will still allow you to buy high tier gear to take into real matches.

it's worked out great for Tarkov. long as progress/inventory/everything is separate between the two realms why not?

Z Zarcath who was my FPS homie and worked for Bungie even back on Halo during EQ days. He was the real deal. I hope he finds a good job.

Hey if that's what people want, I don't give a fuck, put it in the game I guess. I don't see the appeal but I don't need to.

Its not just this game, it feels like most people have just lost interest in gaming for a myriad of reasons. Cost, AI, greed, loot boxes, microtransactions, shit writing, lack of fun, lack of depth, activism, etc.

My friends list is mostly just people "online" and rarely playing anything (myself included).

People see the writing on the wall of whats coming and they want no part of it. The next few years will be interesting as companies (not just gaming) come to the realization of whats happening. We are going to see a lot of industries collapse in on themselves. The severity and fallout of this is anyone's guess.

I am strictly playing single player games at this point. But yeah. I rarely see anyone playing games anymore.

There's a new younger generation playing plenty of stupid stuff, but yeah a good chunk are the type to just watch others play or scroll tik tok for hours instead. Most of us and our friends lists are on average older and likely in the too busy side of in some cases yes kinda aging out on interest in our 40s.

I know plenty of younger people (20s) that are going through the same thing. They've just lost all interest.

A good chunk of it might be that people are simply tired of playing the same game, over and over. I see games tagged with extraction, survival, rogue, souls and a handful of other tags, and simply don't investigate them at all. There is almost no originality coming out of most companies.

Also, the bar to entry to making games is gone. Anyone and their brother can drop their pants and pinch out a game. Couple this with everyone recycling each other's ideas, and soon you have no signal left, just a bunch of noise.

The same thing is happening with movies. People are tuning out and not turning up for the same reasons they aren't buying games. Crazy to see all these movies dying at the box office within a week, whereas movies used to run for months.

I think covid really put the nail into the coffin of movies. I mean I agree they all suck now, woke regurgitated garbage, but this was the same shit pre covid. I have a huge AMC20 with like 4 huge IMAX screens and the place is dead. Dead in the afternoon and dead at night. Whereas before COVID that place was packed when open. Parking lot full, could not even find a place to park.

Plus you can get yourself a 75" screen for less than a grand, and have a movie theater at home. Why go out at all? My kid bought himself a cheap 65" for less than $500.

Games and Movies decided to try to target 2% of the audience. Sucks to suck.

Part of it is what you guys have said, but part of it is just it’s not the same entertainment landscape anymore. There are tons of entertainment options all vying for the same consumers. If gaming sucks now, people largely aren’t just going to suck it up and play what’s available. They’ll find something else to spend their time on. Just doomscrolling FoH and reading could probably fill most of my leisure time at this point.

I disagree with this, respectfully. It's not just gaming, everything sucks and I don't mean this from a doomer stand point but more of an observant stand point. Corporations have sucked the fun out of everything and just keep driving home what they want rather than what the customer is asking/telling them they want.

Case(s) in point. YouTube Ads, Subscription services, AI, etc. They are forcing what they want down our throats rather than offering us what we are asking for. It's the opposite of what has worked for hundreds of years, and their unending "yes" man have convinced them it will all work out. I feel we are going to see a lot more people outdoors and social than what's been seen since Covid. I could be wrong of course but pattern is there for all to see. Time will tell.

I mean that's going a bit beyond your initial post. Most of us would agree there's enshitification. The amount of little glitches and bugs and whatnot with YouTube appB are only getting wors etc. But these people are doing something, it's not like they suddenly are outside getting wholesome doses of nature. And given the dlc/microtransaction profits, there's plenty of retards still buying in. So it's more like real enthusiast got fucked out of the space for the unwashed idiots

Hollywood and gaming companies ARE going broke though. So its not like people just accept shit. Disney, Hollywood, Western gaming companies are all getting fucked with releasing shit in the past 5-10 yrs. People are not buying it anymore. Look at all the failed 100mill+ games just int her past year. There is only so many of those that a company, even a large ass one like EA or whatever can put out before the shareholders start squeezing the necks of the execs. I think the era of woke is over. We might see a few more titles that started production 5-6 yrs ago get released, but I think the tide is shifting now. I mean companies like Disney can still TRY to do woke for a few more years, with their fuck you money. But even they will get brought down to reality eventually.
