Such a shame Bungie went for this next instead of Destiny 3 (or another FPS focused on pve). PvP in Destiny was always my least favorite part. If they would have just focused on a new fps engine with all the bloat and grinding cut out, they could have made a great next gen game. Personally I would have loved to see a true looter shooter themed full fledged RPG with co-op. I have zero interest in whatever Marathon is trying to offer.

It's just a shame they went for this as opposed to a proper new Marathon game based off the original material. Now they soiled the Marathon name without even really doing anything with it.

The good news is this was stillborn enough that most mainstream gamers haven't heard of it. The proportion of the gaming public that pays attention to streamers/game news media is small. For people like me where the original Marathon was literally my first 3d game, I'll be discerning enough that if someone in the future can do it justice I'll still pay attention.

I was very hopeful when they annouced it, but when they said "Extraction Shooter" .. as I said, "Another corpse for the pile."

Fuck'em, hope Sony enjoys the 4billion+ loss between the 2 companies, fucking morons.

Worthless motherfuckers. They also canned the Visual Director that was working on it.. so that answers that question. The new Director is someone who worked on Destiny 2's latest shit-fuck.

From what I have seen with Arc Raiders, this has no fucking chance. No matter what they redo. Only people which will play this is bunge diehards that play Destiny 2 still.

It would be far cheaper and wiser for Sony to just cancel this mess.

By this point it's basically doomed, and throwing more money at it is just throwing that money away.

They are already 3.6b into it, so might as well let them try.

I'm not sure what the numbers they need are in order for the stocks to become vested, the only thing everyone knows for sure is that they have till June 2026 to hit those numbers. And the latest shit with Destiny has not helped at all, never mind the Marathon problems.

I believe Sony hands are tied, wish we could see the finer details of the investor contract but that's hush-hush shit, the only people who really know are the people on the board.
