I saw some discussion about this in another thread, but figured it would be good to bump this one too. There's a private server setup for the game, I think pretty much everything is in and working, but there's a version 1.0 coming later this month and they're going to be wiping the server then, so don't get too into it before that happens. I'm messing around some right now since I never played post BUE (RIP Captain America). It's also super easy to setup and join if you had it in your steam library.

How does aquiring new heroes work?
I remember how many I had when the game shut down. Think I was working on Dr Doom, and I'm like that busy and I kind of shoveled the game and then suddenly it was gone.
My group of buddies and I play this for a good long while, I will be nice to get everybody back again.

When 1.0 goes live soon this is how it'll work. There will be no paying real money for anything, that would probably get them shut down fast.

I played through the Tutorial, it was again fun. I couldn't get sound or 4k resolution to work, hopefully those things will be fixed in 1.0 I need to go to their Discord and look for solutions. It was a long day at work and I feel terrible, so I will work to make the dead game fully work later.
Edit: Sound issue resolved, completely on my end. Somebody's got a case of the Mondays.
So the wording here needs some additional precision: Is it the cost for ALL heroes or the cost of EACH/EVERY hero? Will you need to earn In game currency to unlock heroes? I had every hero, and its going to suck to start over with just a few.
I need to go read up before I get myself in a lather, and look this back from the dead gift horse in the mouth.

I believe it's 400 per hero, but it seems like they're a lot faster to acquire than before.
"In the 2017 version of the game, Eternity Splinters seemed to drop at a rate of 1 per 5 minutes of active-enemy-defeating-play. In the emulator versions that have followed, these can vary. On the TAHITI server, Eternity Splinters drop at the rate of about 8 per 6 minutes."
"In the revival efforts of Marvel Heroes, Eternity Splinters have achieved a new rank of importance as the conversion stand in for the Shop Currency, Gs. The ratio and conversion will vary on the servers, but they are the in-game way to infinitely earn the premium shop currency without any monetary transaction. In the 2017 days, G's were only acquired from the cash shop, but are now passively earned through ES drops."

So at those rates, effectively it's 5 hours per hero, or 305ish+ hours to fill out the roster. (you start with 1 hero, and they seem like they will give you ES to buy a 2nd at the end of tutorial, and at 8 every 6 min is 80 an hour , 61 heroes is 24400s ES. 305 hours @80 an hour. That isn't including costumes or XP boosts or loot boxes or any of the other things that I spent WAY too much real money on playing this game for years. Marvel Heroes is the game that broke me for RMT for the most part. IIRC I Cosmic'ed 6/7 heroes? Juggernaut/Hulk/Scarlet Witch/ Cap/ Cyclops/??/?? its probably in this thread.
I'm excited to play this again, just maybe not to that level

I had 41 heroes at max level of cosmic prestige, wolverine about halfway through for my 42nd cosmic prestige, and the rest of the roster all at red prestige.
I'll consider restarting this game from scratch at the same time the revival devs figure out how to package it with free blowjobs.

motherfucker the amount of time i pissed away on this game in such a short time period (i started late and quit early, meaning those 3.7k hours came in a shockingly compressed time period) earned me the right to be as much of a bitch as i want.

At some point I removed it from my Library and the normal ways of re-adding it do not work because the game is no longer actively available. Contacted support and going through the motions of them trying to tell me to do it the documented, automated way and me explaining over and over I've already done that, those options aren't available/don't function because the studio is defunct.
We'll see if I can get it back. I'm already slightly annoyed that there is no official information on the discord/site (the site is hilariously bad) on how else I can get the game files.
