They learn nothing from doctor who?
1) This is a spinoff of BP 2, which made a chunk of the Dora Milaje gay and might have included a tranny? This shouldn't surprise you.
2) Again, the original version was filmed yeaaars ago - possibly before any of the most recent Doctor Who had aired. So no, there's no guarantee they even had a chance to learn anything from Doctor Who.

All names are made up...
Its shitposting day so I'm not getting worked up about this, but this comment often gets intended in a serious way and it misses the point.

Sure, you could argue "Mary" is a made up name too. In theory there was a time far back in the past when someone first named their daughter "Mary". In the same sense, every word in every language was first uttered at some time, so all words are made up!

But of course when someone names their child "Mary" they're naming her after a long line of people with that name. Its now well recognized as a name, with meaning and connotations. Really they're little different from dictionary words. When you say chair, people know what you mean. When you say Mary, people know you're talking about a woman's name.

This is not at all the same thing as someone who names their child "Zendeya" or "Laquandisha" or "Keesha". These are just made up noises, gibberish instead of a name. They're not recognized as names in any cultures, they're just made up bullshit for "creative" points.
