As opposed to what? A state influenced by people who think a bunch of fairy tales written by some dudes in the middle east thousands of years ago should be the basis of government?

Emperor Constantine wasn't from the middle-east. And we could do worse than copy the government of an empire that lasted 2000 years.

The US did copy the government of the Roman Empire

The OG Roman Empire also died shortly after Constantine

Hollywood jerking off to themselves. Marvel is so directionless it's amazing. You keep wondering how they'll top their last big disaster and they always surprise.

Movies about making movies has been a genre for longer than any of us have been alive, why not have a Marvel entry.

That said, everything in that trailer is probably in just the first episode.

Also, what is the point of making this a Wonder Man _revival_, if you give the new guy the Simon Williams name. Who the hell was the MCU WM1?

Looks boring as shit.

My question is: what fraction of superheroes do they need to make black and/or gay before its enough?

been couple rumors floating around and it may have changed direction as it starting filming for a couple of months before the strikes and was delayed for a long time.
The show is described as mixing dark humor, rising tension, and a mystery at the heart of Hollywood. Marvel will use elements of the West Coast Avengers, and some characters from the MCU will appear.

The series will have 8 episodes and follows Simon Williams (Abdul-Mateen II), a former scientist who tries his luck as an actor in Hollywood. While playing a fictional superhero, a lab accident grants him real powers.

Simon finds out he’s at the core of a crime plot involving the company behind the project. The lab that gave him powers is working with ionic radiation, a threat that could endanger thousands of lives.

Simon and Trevor (Ben Kingsley) investigate Hollywood and how it is connected to the lab. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) will show up and detects ionic radiation at the site, indicating a potential threat, like in Shang-Chi. Banner teams up with Simon, who has connections to the lab.

Also, Grim Reaper (Demetrius Grosse), Simon’s brother, appears as a supporting villain, acting alongside A.I.M. soldiers who follow orders from an even larger figure operating in hiding

Ben Kingsley being on screen that much has me interested. Not enough to reactivate Disney+ though
