Introducing Blade into the MCU is a lot harder than just having a movie of him hunting vampires. Midnight Sons makes it a lot easier to write him into it. He does a lot more than vampire hunting in the comics nowadays.

It bears repeating that Ali is over 50 now, and would have been nearly 50 even if the movie came out at the earliest possibility. It's hard to believe they ever intended Ali to be the lead long term.

Hell, if we want hard ages, if you go back to Blade 1, Whistler (Kristofferson) was around 61 when it was filmed; Snipes was around 35. Ali would have been closer to Whistler's age than Blade's age _even if the first MCU Blade came out on time_.

Ali could pull off the swagger the same as Snipes. Majors just doesn't have any Blade factor in him (Aware it was a joke)

Snipes was also a trained martial artist who already had several action roles under his belt, the closest Ali has ever come to an action role was voicing Miles uncle in the first Spiderverse movie.

The actress went on to reveal that the fall caused her traumatic brain injury (TBI). “The results came back from the scans, and almost every area in my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity,” she announced. “So, I do have brain damage from the TBI, and possibly other factors going on,” Lily added.

She continued, “Now my job is to get to the bottom of that with the doctors and then embark on the hard work of fixing it, which I don’t look forward to, because I feel like hard work is all I do. But that’s okay.”

The Lost star then looked back on how the diagnosis had affected the rest of the year. “My cognitive decline since I smashed my face open has helped me to slow down and helped me to have a more restful finish to my 2025,” the actress shared. “I think this was the calmest, most restful Christmas holiday I have had, maybe since I had children, so 14 years ago. So that’s a good thing,” she added.

Concluding on a positive note, Lily said, “Feeling extraordinarily grateful and blessed to be able to play one more day and one more year on this beautiful living planet. And that is my concussion update. Thank you all for caring.”
