Given how much he took over the original X-Men movies, you should remember how much screentime he had in the First Class timeline. (The one exception being Days of Future Past, but that was really original timeline Wolverine).
I still think its weird that they brought back the original cast for Doomsday / Secret Wars, only for the very next movie after Secret Wars (I believe) to be their recastings.
Also, like I need another reminder we're all getting old - I don't know who half these people are. That said, the half that I do know all seem like great castings - this isn't Phase 4/5s 'Cast whomever and let's see how things shake out'. Hell, David Jonsson was also the best part of Alien Romulus, and Ryan Gosling is probably one of (if not the) biggest male movie stars of the decade. Marvel sure got the memo on the casting issue.
I am less sure they got the memo on the politics, however - in addition to Jean Grey being worse than Wanda and Ironheart, all the rumors are these X-Men are far more Antifa than any other reference. Let's hope that gets revised before this launches.

Bat Girl was created for the 60s Adam West series, that's not a retcon of her; that is where she was born.
Harley Quinn was created for Batman: The Animated Series. Just including this for reasons like, "because".

On another, less embarrassing note, this looks interesting. Not sure I am a fan of having dude from the Blacklist play dude from the Blacklist instead of something more resembling Ultrom but still it all looks interesting. Or at least it was a good trailer.

Inde Navarette as Rogue is amazing. Rogue is my favorite character and I really want them to do a whole arc where she steals Ms Marvel's powers and puts her in a coma. I don't think we've ever had a fully powered Rogue in the movies, but damn it, just give me this instead of redoing the Phoenix arc for the 3rd/4th/whatever time.

Not super weird really - since they are going multiverse, pretty clear they're bringing in the Fox X-men cast just to show them getting deleted as a way to "raise the stakes"
Remember that episode of SG1 where Daniel is like partially ascended and in that dinner with that friendly dude that ends up being Anubis? I wouldn't be surprised if they do something similar here: an inherently evil entity that shows a different side that you can sympathize with or relate to more, but the end goal is to have Vision align with Ultron
