If you have GCU at best buy its $48+tax, you get back $10 in RZ points after 15 days, AAAAnd you get a free silver replica ring (shipped) if you pre order

i couldn't resist the silver ring for $38. I bought it for xbox one weirdly though, might be the first game i boot up on my xbox one X on nov 7th to check it out. At $38 I can trade it in during Nov for $30-35, shouldn't really be a big loss. I still haven't played much of the first one though, got the GOTY on PC and both consoles

Not going to be picking this up any time soon but for those that are this is a play anywhere title so if you buy it on Xbone or the Windows 10 store you can play it on both the Xbox and your PC. Hoping it's $4 soon on GMG ha ha.

This game's release date's got me in a bind. I get my Paycheck on the 15th, not the 10th! Is $2000 going to be enough for crates to be competitive week 1?!?

Against my better judgement I’m going to do this. $38 for the game, a dumb ring to sit on my nerd shelf, and some DLC. There are quite a few things coming out towards the end of the year it’ll be worth using as a trade in for.

Crap reviews are now coming up.

https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/middle-earth-shadow-of-war-review/1900-6416783/

7/10.

It's an entire section that should have been cut or severely truncated, and playing through the repetitious levels felt like padding meant only to make the game last longer. But although the game's final act is the most egregious, there are several other systems that Shadow of War fails to justify.

and....

As an example of how overwrought with options the skill system is, there's an upgrade that unlocks the ability to "collect items by walking over them." In normal play, you actually have to manually push a button to pick up every item you come across. It's an ability worth prioritizing when you're looking to spend skill points, but it's nonsensical that such a basic quality of life improvement isn't just the default way item collection works.

Hahahahahaha!

These idiots actually made a skill spend option to collect items by running over them rather than pressing a button. Seriously.

Oops.

The game is full of good ideas and potential, that cannot be truly fulfilled due to a storytelling without personality and a huge but boring endgame.

IGN and Gameinformer, the bastions of ethics, somehow gave a warner brothers game a higher score. Gee, wonder how. :p

Review scores seem suspiciously high given people are bringing up big problems. Fuck game journalists though for real, most of them are giving Forza 7 also a 9/10 or so and the game had serious flaws at launch. I'm going to wait for Angry Joe review.

Warner Brothers and the usual suspects obviously with the higher scores. We all remember this one.

I think this is the perfect game for somebody who plays casually, we have been playing generic open world games for years, so collecting another 10 bear asses to upgrade our black dildo of buttsex into a bad dragon isn't going to blow our minds. You saw the same thing with the Mad Max game, widely panned for being generic ubisoft game, but casuals ate it up.

From the reviews the loot crats and MTX are a big nothing burger, which means that Utnayan Utnayan has to buy us all copies of the game.

I don't think they were really tested since the competitive mode wasn't reviewed. They mention that before you hit endgame, the ingame currency ones are mostly useless, but if you need legendary orcs/gear to be competitive, the point stands. Only Polygon briefly mentions that they become a necessity for the endgame unless you enjoy the grind.

I feel like either the gameplay will be amazing and the grind will just be a curve you slowly climb, or the gameplay will be somewhere between bad and merely good and once the story-mode is done it'll be time to put it down.

I thought Shadow of Mordor had the makings of amazing gameplay, but instead of improving upon it and fixing some issues (including Tallion becoming OP) Monolith moved onto Shadow of War.

In other words, some games put the fun behind a grinding barrier (like, all MMOs, especially PvP based ones), but I'm betting in this game you either enjoy the grind or you don't.

Then again maybe the fortress assaults are extremely fun, but require hours of prep time that can be bypassed with a quick purhcase of 9.99 tolkein bux.
