This really highlights the absurdity of stealth. What happens when an F35 goes down in a hostile environment that allows the enemy to easily recover it? What then? Just well guys stealth had a good run but these airplanes we spent $200+ million each on are now no better than a F15?

That dynamic didnt even work for the F117. Shot down by random serbians.
Would not shock me at all if the galaxy brains who designed that never once thought about the corrosive aspects of sea use.I think this is fake, driven by a Chinese news website.

After all the designers of the Navy's LCS forgot galvanic corrosion was a thing.

Isn't that the puma's cannon? Haha it's not gonna be any more cost-effective in that use-case than it is on the puma. It already looks like each burst costs about 10x more than each drone it's mostly missing.Wonder how this works against drones diving at 100-200mph
Not sure. Irony is weve had plenty of weapon systems that did that in the past like the M-163 or LAV-AD that have long since been retired.Isn't that the puma's cannon? Nah the procurement and design was some next level retardation. The Navy was too retarded to settle on a design so they had one of each design built so they could test each and decide on one. But after that was done they just said fuck it and built both designs.not procurement or design or execution.
I mean, isn't it less about how much the drone costs and more about how much it's gonna cost if you don't stop it?Isn't that the puma's cannon? Yes, but then it turns into how many countermeasures you can have on board before you run out and overwhelmed by incoming weapons. Whichever side overcomes the other first wins or loses everything.I mean, isn't it less about how much the drone costs and more about how much it's gonna cost if you don't stop it?
