And both teams get a shot with the runner on 2nd. It always bugged me about the NFL that if the team who gets first shot scores a touchdown then it's game over. Why don't both teams get a shot?

I am fine with the runner on 2nd as it's the same for both teams.

They play 162 fucking games. Who cares if you throw a few regular-season ties in there.

Hockey & Football do it and it doesn't break their sports. Meanwhile, baseball teams that get into a 16 inning marathon destroy their bullpens for 2 weeks.

If any sport SHOULD have ties, it's Baseball.

The analogy for baseball would be to play the 10th inning with a runner on 2nd and if it was still tied to do a homerun derby to decide the game. Oh and to give the losing team half a win.
