Nice guys are boring and don't sell PPVs. UFC wants a roster full of shitlords like Conor.
I'll take nice & boring over nice & preachy any day.
Come At Me Bring It On GIF by UFC

(Cruz is who I'm thinking of, right? If not, who's the little cunt I keep seeing giving speeches about "we're all in this together" and shit?)

I see a pattern here. Sign a contract that locks you in for so many fights/years at X amount of dollars. Cry at the end of it that it doesn't pay enough. Violate the contract by planning something you aren't allowed to do while under contact and have people claim being paid 600k a fight is comparable to being whipped while picking cotton and living in a shack.

Suing him might be the way to keep him under contract beyond 1 year. They will have to agree to arbitration if there is a clause, then settle the lawsuit.

He doesn't have money to fight UFC on a breach of contract-- that means the UFC holds the cards and gets to ask for certain terms of settlement.

Regardless of champions clause, can't he sit out for 1 full year and have avoided all this? I thought the court struck down the indefinite renewal clause for champions back during the Randy Couture era. The contract must have an expiration date was the court ruling, regardless of championship status or not. That's been case law AFAIK. For a subcontractor worker, the deal has to have a meaningful expiration or release from the contract must be reasonable.

Again most of this was settled during the Randy era. This situation is old hat.

Yea that was fucking dangerous. The entire arena has Frye's back. I think his goal was just to get punched in the face by the legend.

I'll wait to see if the fan claims he didn't know who he was.

I wonder if anyone has a MMA API available for stats like that. I'll bet it'd be dirt cheap to pay some AWS MTurk to keep it updated.

It's how Gane got to where he is in the division. NOBODY can kick like him at HW. I suspected in an earlier post that he must've been afraid of a counter to not be using them - looks like that's exactly what it was.

Gane reminds me a lot of my boy, Wonderboy. Totally exposed if he can't get his kicks off. I can't even imagine how bad it would've been for him in the smaller octagon.

Former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz (28-9 MMA, 11-6 UFC) was supposed to headline the March 26 card against Aleksandar Rakic (14-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC). But Blachowicz announced early Friday an [neck] injury has forced him out.
