This is what tapping was invented for, kids... This idiot's foot was rotated 270 degrees from his knee at various points in the match during the SIX MINUTES that Musumeci was cranking on the heel hook.

Ken Shamrock vs Don Frye had a similar incident during the course of the fight.

With Pride there wasn't any athletic commission way to verify a medical suspension or reported injury-- so it's possible the injuries were exaggerated in later years to make it sound like more of a war. However, if you watch the match the hooks used look tight, and neither guy was tapping.

Both men maintain over the years at least one of Frye's ankle was destroyed. I'm gonna take their word for it.

It doesn't even take visible rotation in a heel hook to snap an ACL. If it looks gnarly to an observer there is a 100% likely hood of significant damage.

If that poster can be trusted, then the money was probably right. Francis fell on his sword for the other fighters in the UFC. Noble, but stupid.

He should have gotten the other fighters to rally behind him and be the face of the demands, as the Heavy Weight champ. He has bad PR and strategy.

Pay him enough, and he'll forget about the union and healthcare so fast your head will spin.

8m is under what he considered himself worth. He was eyeing a Conor deal or a Mike Tyson deal. Along with permission to box Tyson Fury. He ended up with none of those things on the table.

Up the money to 10-15 million, and watch how much he gives a fuck about Healthcare then.

Then you'll see your noble guy exposed to the world.

you watch heavyweights to see someone get knocked into the nether realms, but you can find a dozen tai tuivasas on worldstar hiphop. you watch midgetweight to watch speed and technique and what an (albeit tiny) human is capable of, you do not find flying armbars on worldstar hiphop.
