UFC must have put the house up $....He'd be a complete fool to do anything that involves kicks. I have to assume hybrid means old clinching rules from K1 before they changed it when Overeem came in.

I wouldn't expect kicks to be allowed. Just dirty boxing clinches, holding the head being legal, and throwing opponent is legal from clinch being allowed will probably be the biggest thing. Brawler style boxing like K1 had before they tightened the rules up. Jones probably pushed to be able to do more from the clinch than just get broken up if it's going to be a boxing fight in the ring. Throws and neck pulling, who knows if he got elbows in the offer or not, doubt it.

This would jive with Vitor Belfort's "hybrid boxing" request. The thing Vitor wanted the Commission to look at was an alternate set of boxing rules that allow you to grab the head. So I'd bet it's exactly that.

Without grabs in the clinch, it'll be a short night for him.

Fans won't get their money's worth-- outside of Jones maybe getting a broken jaw or orbital with UFC gloves. It'll at least be the first time we see him out cold on the canvas.

Yeah, if it's essentially boxing with MMA gloves, Tyson Fury would murder anyone/everyone.
