If anything I wish fighters would hire writers to come up with one liners for them. There's so much good material to work with that anytime a fighter even makes an effort (Connor, Chael) it's amazing. I wish fighters would train their hardest and fight their best for my entertainment. But you wanting to see these guys awkwardly stammer through stilted hackneyed trash talk is admirable too.

Let the guys with the gift of gab use it, for the JJ/DC types I'd prefer they come off kind of real. Like DC. Or even like the shit JJ does online and then instantly removes. That feels like the real JJ, when he's just acting like a petulant little shit. Not sure why I like that awful shit. I'm probably in the wrong on this one.

So the story coming out is that War Machine caught his pornstar GF in bed with another fighter. Broke her jaw and eye socket supposedly, though she denied that on twitter or some shit. Then again last time he hit a pornstar GF(Alanah Rae at the infamous porn party incident) and she confirmed it she later denied it as well.

I don't believe this is fake at all. I think JJ is trying to get in DC's head and doing a pretty good job of it. You can tell DC is flustered by the fakery and doesn't really know what to make of it. You're a fool if you think these fights start in the Octagon. Any mental or physical advantage you can get, you take. There's no question that JJ was trying to intimidate DC in the stare-down and it clearly worked. If it didn't DC would never have pushed Jones. Now Jones is just on course to mindfuck DC.

Anyway, the only thing I give a shit about in this fight is the 13.5 fucking inches that separate the end of Jones' fists from DC's.

I mean, that fight was over before it even started. DC was visibly shaken waaaay more that time. Cummins barely even had to do anything to win the fight after all that master shit talking.

edit: If JJ wins stupid people will say it's because he got in DC's head. No, it will be because he beat him in a fight. All this pre-fight shit isn't going to win or lose him the fight. DC isn't a mental midget like a Diaz brother where outside the fight stuff is going to effect him.

So with your logic Jones is the white guy? Err, yeah - great argument.

No one is saying talking shit is going to win Jones the fight. It can, however,helphim win the fight. It may or may not matter, but its a good factor to have in your favor before the fight starts. As I also remarked, I tend to think Jones' massive reach advantage is going to matter more but..../shrug.

My logic is we've seen someone elicit a much more obvious reaction from DC with way more personal attacks before and it had no effect on him. He came in like he always does and ragdolled his opponent like he was a child, like he always does. All this "in his head" bullshit is just fans hyping themselves up in this case. DC laughs at JJ's shit and some of you are all "OMG JJ IN HIS HEAD MASTER PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSASSIN!!!".

Shit, the fried chicken from Hendo probably had more effect than any of Jones antics so far.

edit: It's possible I'm wrong(there's a first time for everything!). Maybe DC is broken now. 35 years old and been fighting at a world class level for hundreds of matches and the better part of two decades, maybe being called a pussy was just the thing that was needed to break him.

edit2: Just in case anyone missed it, and because it's relevant right now, DC on InsideMMA talked about the whole thing.
