This version worked perfect out of the gate, no messing no nothing- just fresh install and boom- with crossover on my mac (m4 pro)

Monks get FD, Lizzies are coming- but way later. Wood elf start area is real bare bones. You're basically just gonna grind mobs there and hit the trainers until it gets fleshed out more

Wyrmsbane is absolutely the most XP-efficient location at that level, and it does have some good loot, but you need to to pretty deep for the loot and it's not exactly game-changing. The reward is "extremely efficient XP" but the risk comes from the 5 adds you're grouped with.
PVP server wyrmsbane loot def worth, because ranged / offhand slots are not lootable and all the no drop class armor is from there.
In general, other than that idol being a BIS for a while there is also a haste cloak and mini hiero cloak like item that drops there

I do PVP on the open alpha to mix it up, as the closed alpha is PVE and my main one.
They shut down the closed alpha server when the open alpha tests happen.
Those drops are in general BIS though from wyrmsbane, and on the PVE most casters camp wyrmsbane for the no drop class armor pieces well after they outlevel the zone. I really like that there are some items you use for 30-40 lvls as opposed to constantly upgrading every piece of gear every 4-5 lvls

ProTip (maybe): Mem all your spells then put the spellbook in the bank. Disclaimer: I just found this out before logging, so don't know if there are any hiccups.

Starting at the Freeport city was much better. Where the hell can I sell crap from monsters though? Like wings and rat parts.
Edit: Figured out you need specific vendors. Janober and me are quite happily farming at lvl 2 now.

The game feels very much like my early EQ days. But it seems far away from some complete gaming experience. Too much empty places etc.
The night time is not very fun. It sucked in EQ as well but I usally played races with night vision there so did not really bother me. And EQs Glowing Light Stones did not deplete so they felt better.
Will be interesting to see how this progress, not really into playing pre alpha stuff so will check back in a few months.

I like a lot of the quirkiness honestly. I absolutely 100% agree that it feels nowhere near fleshed out.
What is the Astronomy profession supposed to do? I saw some trainers for it and just thought it was kind of cool such a thing existed. I wanted to start the brewing tradeskill but didn't find anyone for it. I did find the alchemists.
