I dunno, this feels like social media at its worst/peak. Ignore this thread and play the game if you think it is fun, don’t if you don’t and nothing said here matters.

Damn just finally stumbled on this game last bight browsing reddit. Looks awesome from everything I've seen, and exactly what I've been looking for. Don't need a huge community or expect one, but they'll obviously still need to deliver on content. I think the simpler aspects will make it much easier to put out loads of content to keep things satisfied and always moving. I just hope they come with deep progression and loads of content and not just so many MMO knock off, looking for the real deal.

I do quite like playable skaven. They were my general goto in the little i played of EQ2. But it seems like the rest of the team was not expecting him to make that announcement. Lol. I wouldn't expect them for awhile. Was watching Zukan's stream today. The rats aren't setup to have pants or boots currently, so it'll take more work than expected to get them out. And they need to get in line behind trolls!

The way they're doing gear slots + textures is really interesting to me. I've tried to find detail on how its done but some sort of wizardry with UV mapping to specific locations on textures for each slot and ensuring that every model follows that layout is the best I've been able to determine. The result is they can essentially texture something once and it scales to every humanoid model that follows that layout. This is why a halfling and an ogre can wear the same piece of gear and it looks the same. Thats harder than you'd think

They've got an internal wardrobe system that shows it off best but I had to do a lot of digging in VoDs to find that at all. Been trying to work on something similar for my own project and ended up having to take an entirely different, and inferior, route because I can't figure out what they're doing.

I don't think its really appreciated just how sophisticated some of the things they're doing on this project really are. They've created a really impressive pipeline for content creation and I think its going to pay off down the road when they need to just pump content. Its my understanding they've also pushed the limits on Unity's netcode in ways that, I think, will actually benefit Unity as a whole. One of the reasons I'm optimistic on this

They look sick in that plate. I didn't notice the first time I played but I love how your armor goes from literally rags to better and better looking gear. The details on the armor pieces are so simple yet it looks so good.

While I've had a few good ideas for some classes and UI changes I've been handing out ridiculous suggestions non-stop just to make things more fun. I think only the ridiculous ones seem to get any traction. I'm still pushing for the Bard Piano launching Trebuchet and duel wielding lutes, EL KABONG!

If that race is real they better fuckin’ be Monks
Listening to Goblin's stream with some of the other dev's in it - it doesnt sound like its 100% concrete add. The responses dont seem to have been completely thought out and are more of just a feeling.

NickHotS: i love how people thought i was hard confirming it

But if they do go that route, and its not super restrictive - like some hard coded World of Warcraft Alliance VS Horde kind of stuff... Ill play a ratkin rogue, for sure.

Ratkin rogue for sure!

I was thinking about debuff indicators and I think I've come up with an elegant solution that keeps the UI clean.

The ability icon on the hotbar should have a lightened color outline around the edges of the ability icon while the debuff is active on the mob you have targeted. This would be a great indicator for managing debuffs and DoTs on your targets without adding more clutter to the UI.
It would also be beneficial for knowing which buffs are active on friendly targets.

Similar to how the auras have an effect when they are enabled.

Considering the direction they've gone with Sense Magic and conning mobs/players to see buffs, I doubt they'd go that route for beneficial buffs. Maybe for the debuffs though.

Am i reading correctly or is this wiki entry incorrect? Do Druids not get targeted AOE nukes like wizards get? Also do they get fewer port destinations than Wizards?

Also are there no charm spells over level 48?

Yes and maybe. Druids only currently have two ports, one close to the zone line to Glass Flats in Sungreet and one at the Woody city. I got a druid up to 16 and didn't see an AoE spell outside of root. I didn't get high enough level to mess with druid charms (two boxed in the undead dungeons for the most part). That said, the wiki is incomplete in some cases.

Currently no aoe nuke and only 2 ports on Druid. I’m guessing that will change but haven’t heard anything from the devs on that. Same with charm, right now can’t cast it past lvl 52 mobs but I think they will add one more.

finally got around to exploring grimtide sanctum. Not huge but executed so well and the whole dungeon has a theme and goal to it like you’re doing some dnd dungeon. Reminded me a bit of howling stones but maybe one third the size. Just superb and if they have more of this in store then the game is going to do really well. The key really is can they put something like this out every 1-2 months , or 6-12 months. If you’re gonna push new content on a longer , 6-12 month cycle, then it needs to be much more substantial , something like old seb.
