guys guys stop it with the logical, inevitable conclusions to poor design decisions. Now is the time to just hit the I believe button

What will happen is guilds will have a team of alts that are essentially level locked for the encounter if the loot is good enough. It happens on P99 with Vox/Naggy.

Quarm emu server has some pretty innovative ideas for how to deal with poop socking and item camping- including items that can only be looted once per 30 days per account not per character. Other stuff too.

I was pretty skeptical of some of the Quarm features before I played because I've always been very anti-instancing (and related concepts). But once I actually played I discovered that the ideas had been implemented very effectively.

All this just to say I think there are a few elegant/non-intrusive ways to solve some of these problems with creative programming these days. Not sure the devs will be interested in trying the ideas- just saying they exist and work pretty well.

So the loot sellers invite them into the group to get kill credit. Need to be on the hate list while over the level cap? Then run in, get death touched with a 96% rez as part of the sale. Sweatlords will find a way to sell it if it's popular enough.
Cool.

So ban them, from Orbit (to be sure).

But the real answer is just don’t make the loot OP. In Shards of Dalaya (with a few outlier exceptions) it was mostly loot that was good for the level but you’d just replace it later if you kept on leveling.

Shards of Dalaya had level locked content and it worked ok as optional content to change things up while leveling. They should really make all the drops No Drop if they haven’t already to avoid poopsock losers monopolizing it
It worked when the population was there, trying to do adepts now is aids.

on Shards of Dalaya (the almost abandoned old one), people made alt clusters for each of the level locked bosses, then /locked the account (where you couldn't trade their items or accept new items or whatever else). and parked them at each of the level locked names (adepts).

They then twinked them with literally the best t wink gear they could possibly make. for the early, like sub 40ish i think.....ONE of these alts could solo the thing. so because it's a box server. you could play one of those alts, and your character. do that with the alt every X hours (respawn time) till you get youre item then move to the next.

The new Dalaya, i'm not sure about, but they did remove the irreplaceable items from the adepts. so it's just a choice to do it or not. i basically never did it because it was real obnoxious waiting on the respawn, then trying to get in when some guy could just log the nuclear alts in and just kill it immediately.

i think literally the exact same thing will happen on the box servers. people will make turbo twinks and leave them there. i doubt they'll share the account info for them tho because it's an actual sub and not a free infinite account emulator.

What’s hilarious is even in the alpha some tryhards have locked down the lvl 20 gated boss. Even tho all this is going away anyway in a few months. And it does have some really good loot, esp for that level.

But there are far better drops at the endgame that outclass those mobs drops - and a lot more to come - so while it’s a good boost while leveling, you’re probably better off just advancing your char to do the big boy stuff later rather than worry about some level 20 mob that some weirdos have locked down.

I used to do that for daoc battlegrounds. The rvr stuff was alot more fun at lower levels.

I find it funny that Bone Construct is always so obsessed over, but you can find Skyseer and Guardian up quite often. Guess people are just lazy and don't wanna level their alts past 20.

Kind of funny, just started watching this Flea interview with Rick Beato, and he talks about how people end up being drawn to the music of the time period where they hit sexual maturity through to around early adulthood when they have to become responsible, and they don't actually "like music" but rather are drawn to the music that reminds them of that period of their life. Flea states that he "loves music" because he enjoys all of it for music, and it's not that reminiscence that people chase.

Sounds familiar.

Yeah, we don't like video games, Gravel. We've never played anything made after the year 1999. Brilliant observation and insight.

Nobody who prefers the music of their twenties has listened to any since. Brilliant analysis and rebuttal Del, as usual.

Probably a big overlap of people who don't understand the point being made, and the ones who don't understand why the decisions being made for this game in 2025 don't work because it's not 1999 anymore.

Got any cool psychology for the people who spend their days posting in threads about specific video games over and over ad nauseam trying to discourage others from enjoying them?

Got any cool psychology for people who spend their days white knighting a consumer product because they have used it to define their identity and sense of self worth?

Says that you're a little dork that didn't touch a girl until he was almost 30. No wonder you're such a bitter cunt.

Ah I see. Reaching 'sexual maturity' is touching women. Got it, got it.

And 'touching women' is how one becomes 'not bitter'. Sounds like you have it all figured out Del. Keep on truckin', champ.
