They’re going to have to create a server for every 2000 players, maximum. Actually, probably a lot fewer than that… maybe 1200 or so. 80%+ of players will start in Night Harbour, and they cannot allow 1000 concurrent users rammed into one laggy zone to shit up the reputation of their EA launch.

Expect a massive server list on launch day and very rapid mergers once folks level away from Night Harbour and adjacent zone ranges.

They will have a few more zones in the starting areas for EA as well. The underdark and something else. There is a lot of room.

Deep won’t be til module 1. And they were able to have 1100 people in nh for one of the stress tests. Not ideal, but wasn’t nearly as lagged out as you’d expect.

lol had same problem in play tests with enchanter and ogre illusion.

would have sworn I saw something in patch notes about ogre “masks” during illusions.

Got my Ele to 8 today. Class seems cool, still figuring out the blasts. Summoned bandage was super useful, since you can use it while you’re meditating. I summoned a bunch of bandages early on today and used them a couple times effectively I thought.

Still kinda poor. Only bought one pet when I hit 8, water pet. Got the damage shield, pet heal, pet buff, and spell shield though.

Working crafting a bit, which I haven’t done in the past. Got my Seam Splitter and bother tailoring and leather working kits so I can break stuff down in dungeon next run.

They did a good job making a difficult economy for low levels, hit 10 just an hour ago or so and finally got to like 36 silver. I was struggling before that point and still missing most of my spells. You can tell they really want people communicating, crafting and trading, node theft is off the charts as well. Good luck finding any nodes of copper on launch.

We have a few folks going hard. I didn't get to play till yesterday. Mob density was good. They recently made harvest nodes have a cooldown timer which made early mining a nightmare.

Previously it was "when the last node in a cluster is mined, another respawned immediately." So it could handle infinite players. Now yoi see one dwarf with a stop watch hitting them in a cycle. Or players rush them. Or camp them. The old method sparked joy, this one did not.

No. That wiki was always starved of data because alpha boys were forsnicken from adding to it. So guilds have personal maps and spreadsheets

I expect that wiki will true up in time

Leveling slows down a LOT at 50+. I think 51-60 takes much longer than 1-50. I had a lot more fun with alts than I expected, and I think it’s because there’s so much content you outlevel early on. I’ve played alts now over 20 levels and it’s been completely different content and dungeons every time , which makes it a lot more fun. There’s not nearly as many options once you hit 40s and especially at 50, hopefully that will change.

You’re mostly fighting dark blue mobs at 55+ but there are enemies to xp on that go up to lvl 59 and the named are 60. Fighting white and yellow mobs at that level is very difficult and blue mobs tend to be better xp. I think blue mobs just slightly under your level is the beat xp with a good full group and there are lots of places for that (though not nearly as much as the first 30 levels of content , mostly because the first 30 levels you blow by so fast so you’re never in the same place for long)
