Nothing against Nick and I haven’t been very involved in Alpha or Beta… but how do you recruit people who aren’t in way over their heads?

This is a shoestring budget volunteer project that even optimistic projections of success would probably put it at maybe paying… 1-3 full time salaries for US tech workers?

Plus you get the fun honor of dealing with the deranged community that is 2020s EQ emu players

Only watched like 10mins of the stream to see what ardullan looked like. Thought his super detailed bug report note taking was a bit odd. Just wrote it off as the tism. He was yammering on like he normally does about history, dropped the stream since he was too distracted to play much.

Guess we’ll find out eventually if he ends up on that team.

defensive target makes hybrid style game play MUCH better. cus you can wail while heal.

This was my EXACT issue last year and the true believers on their discord REEEEEEEE'd at the top of their lungs so I just stopped. Now everyone hates the class and rightfully so.

Manaburn, a +resist buff, Mez, AOE Stun, a Mana Regen aura, and a way to convert incoming dmg spells into HP for themselves, is all the core kit Inquisitors need. Build the rest out with flavour abilities and SOME WAY to do dmg with a couple strikes on short cooldowns, and you're good.

I went to their DC to check it out and Shawn is being super fucking weird. Like just slow the chat speed for a few days and be done with it. He's in there just generally threatening everyone with vague barbs if they talk too much about it. He needs to step away immediately.

yea, i hope they give a shit at some point. a way to 'heal' or create runes routinely would feel much better. I suggested inquisitor alternatives to some enchanter abilities that needed to be spicier. I presume some one reads those. not sure heh.

Ya I love the idea of Rune since Inquisitor gets zero ability to restore their own HP in the same way SKs and Paladins do.

I am worried about the development of this game without Nick. Obviously the grand vision was always Shawn's, and that will still be intact, but Nick was really instrumental on getting the details right when it comes to the classes. Sure, things were far from perfect, but he did a ton of great work and had tried so many more things than what actually got pushed to the test servers, so I think he had a really comprehensive knowledge of what was and wasn't working for the game.

While I fully support the "arcane archer" class. I agree than Ranger and Archer are just really weird. OG EQ Ranger sucked shit for many reasons. But the generic philosophy of a warrior/druid multiclass has old roots. If you play games like Original Sin II they do the Arcane Archer really well. Not really a magic class but a bow class that can shoot modified arrows and then use DEX instead of INT or something to boost dmg. But the kicker is that they have to craft the magic arrows of various elemental types and shit like that.

Certainly doable but if you want a "I'm just an archer" class then you rob Ranger of its ranged options or just weaken it while also making it a shitty warrior with some druid spells.

I don't *know* either but id wager it is a safe bet. He was probably sticking true and it was rocking the boat in the eyes of the people who don't know how to handle the raving of idiots. Something good has been lost now.

Exactly. It's 2026 and if you have no idea how to manage the publicity of your project, it will fail horribly. He's being too logical at the moment. Needs to find someone to manage the comms and quick before he pisses off all of social media.

I dunno man. He was caving regularly. It's quite easy to ignore the morons if you are not taking their money. Easiest way is to not stream and just work.
