There’s also undead in the black crystals in gflats for late 50s , haven’t checked those since beta wonder if anything new there

You can, last I did a couple of those they were a fuckin nightmare. Not really leveling material because of the space between pulls and just the irritation of dealing with caster mobs.

The Shadow Knight is stepping away from necromancy as its driving lore and toward the monster hunter antihero fantasy. The sinister tone stays; the undead trappings don't.

EDIT: ugh, this may end up being a good thing sure but my first reaction is pretty negative. Especially for SK and Fighter, but kind of across the board these are some sweeping changes. Reads more like a complete redesign rather than iteration. May end up being good, but not loving it immediately. You can definitely feel the "we fired the guy, and hired a new guy" in these changes. Hope it ends up being a positive for the game.

Weirdly, the SK shift has made me excited to want to try whatever they do with SK.. a mixture of BLU and some Elric vibes is pretty win in my book.

SK and SPB are that for me in the statement. ARC is what I wanted and depending on how they can figure out charm, ENC may still be my main.

I was planning to monk, but this change sounds like I may start as spellblade. SK sounds interesting... but I am not sure I love the idea of hunting down monsters for abilities. Never did it in any of the final fantasies where it was required, not sure why I'd choose that for myself.

Make a different class, SK / Dark Knight is always in general the opposing to Pally - Cleric/War vs Necro/War .. not grumpy beastlord

i'm interested to see how the changes go. seems late in the game to make a sudden change, but maybe the nick stuff happened over the desire to change quickly (or to drag feet) not sure. will see how things are going in a few months i guess.

More defined list of changes here if you click on each class.

Fighter and Inquisitor were my favorites and the changes make me sad/worried. I liked Fighter having the ability to do both, it was a nice change of pace from time to time.

Should have just made a new class Blue Knight or whatever- or adapted some of that into… you know….the Beastmaster class they already have.

Guess I will have to play some other class- even thematically that is a change from what I would like to be as a SK aside form mechanics

I think the homage is closer to Elric of Melnibone/Witcher than it is anything else. While i'm sure some deviations are required for gamification, Elric being an edgelord with a curse sword stealing souls to empower himself remixed into a class who steals abilities from previous encounters.. albiet it could be very blue mage or it might not be nearly as direct.. who knows, supposedly according to Shawn, mobs will have their pool of abilities increased beyond copypaste player abilities.. quoted throwing rocks to stun/daze pullers/kiters.

I could be wrong but Shawn sure as hell loves hanging dark elf rangers in our faces a lot.

There is no way they make October 1st while doing radical rebuilds of their entire class fantasy, and I say that as someone who likes the project.
