Only got to level 3 on my ogre SK but liking the vibe so far. I am basically going blind but I did have to look up one NPC for a quest because apparently he was bugged out. Just gonna see if he's back tomorrow then petition if not.

So… it’ll be camped to hell by solo level 60s when it drops?
Doubt the gear there will be worth it for people who have been lvl 60 for a bit.

On live or EA or whatever, possibly for resellers. There's just so much shit to camp and so much sub 50 content and items that I dont see it being an issue like it was classic/kunark EQ.

It's really just the wyrmsbane quest armor that drives higher levels to sit in the zone. Having completed it on 2 toons, never did I manage to make it happen before I vastly out leveled the content. I appreciate the exclusivity, but holy shit are the quest pieces rare. They removed the quest npc, so I suspect they are making changes to this.

Only caveat would be the 6% haste cloak on the GMs - quite valuable considering it drops off a level 10.

Cloak from General in Tel'Ekir is 14% and he's only lvl 22. Good exp spot for a competent group that can interrupt Fear. Or, you can literally sit in his little cubby and kill him all by his lonesome since they moved him to that location. I only bring him up though, because he can be soloed. But there are a handful of other mobs in that same lvl range that drop a haste cloak. Its just a waste of time to camp anything in Wyrmsbane if you're high enough level to solo it. Not to say some moron wont do it, but that there are just so many other better options.

Not saying theyve covered all their bases with itemization, but a Haste item isnt all that crazy to find. The only build I've seen that isnt catered very well to is a Hammer for Clerics that has an actual good DPS proc, ratio, and high wisdom. Mother's Sorrow is heavily outweighed by other weapons that are just heavy stat sticks for example. Something I hope they address in the upcoming dungeon releases if they intend to keep the Cleric in the midst of combat.

No it's not? lol, what class? it's BIS for most classes, you have to take into account the proc damage
image.png

Then it was updated but it doesnt matter. The point still stands that there are other haste items in that level range that dont make you a fucking degenerate in Wyrmsbane.

image.png

Great that it has a proc - but as a Cleric, which was the actual fucking point in the paragraph - where I said "cleric" multiple fucking times -
IMG_1003.jpg

Which is the fucking BIS for Cleric as a stat stick.

Again, as I said... There is nothing in the Amythystine Serpent Mace vein of stats that has a fucking proc. Jesus fucking christ you are an insufferable cunt in this thread.

The guy wanders. Tho occasionally there will be a bugged corpse. Can always petition if you find an immortal corpse.

Wyrmsbane armor is not good anymore like it used to be. Or I should say worth the time to sit there and farm it. So many more low lvl items and camps compared to when wyrmsbane stuff was stuff you would wear for 30 levels

I mean it really depends on what's there.

Rings / accessories are in super high demand atm (at least in our group) so if there is a decent source of accessories in there then ya...it'll be camped by people essentially smurfing it.

All depends though, the gear out of Glinting is trash (aside from the trinket and a couple others), if this is another "glinting" in terms of gear quality then people will level then and never go back like you say.

i haven't played in months, but it used to be back in teh day that folks would camp very low level magic item sources for disenchant componants, so they could push their enchanting. that was always more a concern than camping them for stats.

though disenchanting also establishes a minimum value for olde gear, so that they arn't given away as much as disenchanted so i guess it gets you all over heh.

Theres a couple exceptions but in general they have put in so many items in lvl bracketed areas (eg.20-30, 30-40, 40-50, etc.) that its only a very very small couple of items that are useful enough to go back 30-40 lvls lower than you and camp.

Personally i think its too many items, but it does follow their philosophy of more content being the fix to the problem of classic era EQ perma camped areas.

when i did play, you could attempt to camp the goblin general cape through the whole level span you would want to level on him and not have it drop. not sure if the chances are better these days.

I dunno if crowding will be a thing when the deep comes.

It is like you say though, their goal seems saturation, hopefully many of those contested camps have derivative items in other locations so that I'm not stuck shouting if Rampage is done camping Hov for his belt yet after the 15th day in EA LOL...

The problem is they have a lot of mini dungeons - I guess “problem” is depending on your pov. Stuff like grain cellar, glinting, and that new one under the water ; they’re cool but they’re mostly just distractions for a little while until you manage to land the chase item in their respective zone / for glinting for example is the shrink trinket on isle6 which I’d imagine everyone wants. Grimtide is better itemized but also a pretty small zone.

some of their outdoor dungeons are much more substantial - the orc fortress in shallowed shoals comes to mind. But they need more big dungeon zones , like telekir and blacktide, places you can keep coming back to and checking new areas each time. That’s why I think fallen watch is going to be great for this game. Once you dive into that place you’ll get a better sense of what we’ve been missing in MMOs for a long time since maybe blackrock depths

I don't disagree but it really just comes down to accessibility. It sure as hell isn't worth the time investment as cloak drops are nearly as rare as the quest pieces but when a level 10 item is selling for 5-6gp it's going to happen.

As for the WB quest armor itself it only seems worth doing MAYBE if you're a 'hybrid' class who wants nearly the whole pie in stats and you get a little lucky with drops.

I just started looking into wyrmsbane - seems fun, its the "first" one they made right- when the main dude was all obsessed with the lighting engine and designed the entire thing around seeing and not seeing... but I am only level 8.... they paused all the quest armor drops.

I re rolled as a halfling so I would have infra and I am still blind half the time--gamma is up, its really stupid imo... its quite annoying.

Patch and deep dives pushed to Thurs. big patch tho.

-
We wanted to let everyone know that we're pushing today's patch to this **Thursday** to wrap up a few things that Ali, Akkirus, and others on the team have been cooking up before putting it in your hands. This patch is a big one! Some highlights that are coming in this patch:

* **Rothold: **30-45 Level Dungeon.
* **Fallen Watch:** 40-60+ Level Dungeon.
* **Bone Construct: **Raid Boss
* **Lord Ga'Duuz:** Raid Boss
* **Pustalux: **Raid Boss
* **Reworks:**
* Inquisitor & Shaman. (Seek out Master Gedric at your respective class spell vendors and trainers. He will teach you your new spells and abilities up to your current level. This works only once, so be sure you have your spellbooks equipped. Master Gedric will only speak with Inquisitors and Shamans at their designated locations)
* Cleric, Monk, and Fighter are getting some updates as well as a couple of things for Rogues and Druids.
* **Player Camera:** There is a first pass on the default player camera. There will be adjustable options for you implemented in the September patch.
* **Tradeskills:** New Recipes! Many tradeskill vendors have new recipes to purchase to learn.
* And a lot more!

We will likely be dropping Deep Dives Thursday morning along with the patch. Early September's Final Beta Patch is still planned to have Deep related content, and EA is still slated for October 1st.
