I'm making FoH tonight but I play sporadically, so if you need an invite my name is Noodleface on pve. No real plans, just making a place if anyone wants to hang out. No Kungens allowed.

Ill friend u and when ya pop on seek and invite.

Any of you high level lurkers got a good pally 2h collecting dust?

The economy is very odd- it seems there is almost no participation from the 50-60 crew..

Level 35-45 group drops seem to be the highest of end items.

Been on during day and night, there is some variance but not much… this is NH, maybe leaf toucher town is different

So, I am 23 now on the pally.

The power jump per level as I solo has been fairly consistent - whites are doable without burning cooldowns (Pet/LoH/15sec invul) - yellows sometimes need one or two... named blues/whites usually need to pull out all stops - the worst named so far was Commander Mangles @ level 21...killed me twice - I just could not output enough damage and he would burst damage sometimes... now I amd 23, I expect to return to him and get some vengance.

It seems the power jump in ease of soloing is well paced, if this keeps up- as its been fairly consistent up to 23. Exp is fairly good till you find your camp is green, then you need to move on and find another mostly blue some white area. I could progress through Wyrmsbane and solo any camp once the named was blue except Bronn- my final solo exp spot was the area behind and to the sides of her - then it was to AC after I looked around outside for some spots without success. In AC i Did the entrance and starting areas - then did butcher until I am now mostly out leveled and everything is green except Mangles area... I may solo there 1 more level because fallen pass is FAR and DARK AF

Wyrmsbane is a well designed place, AC is...stupid... I think the Ashira land city zone is better but I did not do much there - however right now I was just soloing in the start of the upper starting area of fallen pass - I did group there for a good while... the pulls and kills were constant and while it was /faster/ than soloing... really overall, not by much. Fallen pass at night is completely stupid dark... is infravision working? because I do not know how I could be more blind...

Yea it’s not really an xp zone in its current form. Kind of more like a ‘raid’ zone for 1-3 groups - and I say multi group because there’s parts where I don’t see how a single group can clear thru in time. And yea u got roamer non-cc’able rats everywhere that quad for 600 or whatever, it’s just insane. Feels like they went from eq release to planes of power in a hurry. I’m sure its gonna get tuned down, and also they probably working on the in game mechanic for dealing with the crits to get it to work properly (atleast I haven’t gotten it to work myself yet)

I found a couple of the devs on twitch and it's cool to watch but people ask retarded questions nonstop

Has anyone asked them to explain the grand narrative of their day month year moon cycle names?

/time

It is the 7th Flarginbag of Huffelsnuff in the era of Yugubo in the setting of Rhagitititiyayaylaabingbang… it is Monday 5pm on Earth.

Paladin's revamp should**** increase their overall DPS. As of right now, theyre just dumpstered by the other tanks and obviously the DPS. Rumors of Consecrate, and the proc system that Clerics get modified for tanking. Theyre trying to get away from the idea that hybrids have abilities based on their parent class, but... that may be the direction. Who knows. But Paladin's just kill slow as fuck right now, and any buff/change they get will likely be a push in the right direction to solo.

Kriddle and I were shooting back and forth about their plans with Shadowknight and Paladin, based of the Inquisitor revamp. I personally.. believe they are setting up or planning specific encounters that will be more appropriate for a specific kind of tank. Something to "open" up the idea that another tank besides Fighter can do better. I like the idea that a Fighter is the go-to for general all-purpose, but this Magic based encounter is the Inquisitor's time to shine. This Corruption encounter is the SK's time to shine, this Holy encounter is the Paladins, etc. (Or they could make it the inverse, since theyre fighting... the opposition, and be something like Paladin vs Corruption, SK vs Holy, etc.)

Right now, we're set on a Dual Box server. My current ideal setup is Fighter and Shaman, but I'm still second guessing myself. I really want to see how the Paladin revamp works out, because if it has even a small part of some of the rumors - I'm all in on it. Im usually a fighter/warrior type of player, but the entirety of the Fighter is only fun to me because of Charge/Juggernaught. Which cant even be used most of the time, making the class kind of boring.

//

As for soloing, duoing, or even trio's - The EXP from that is leaps and bounds better than a full group of 6. It doesnt "sound" like they want.. that to be true? But there hasnt, as far as I know, been any hints that they are going to change group exp dynamics by Early Access launch. Using guildies estimates, a solo class can get to 60 in 150-180 hours. Add in 30-50 additional hours for a duo, etc. With a full group of 6, that stuck together the entire time and exp'd at every chance, the time is upwards of 450-500 hours to hit 60.

With that set firm - you're right in trying to find a cadence for where you can level the quickest with the most reward. But I'm not even entertaining the idea that WB or AC as an option. They will be over camped, people will be stealing mobs from each other, and trains galore. Hell, most major camps are going to be swarmed. Lesser camps just as busy, such as the cemetery or goblins in NH, etc. I've mapped out hole in the wall camps that are good for my duo that can withstand another couple duo's being in the area. Playing sweaty at least for the first couple days in order to get away from the "wave" of people. I doubt Ill play enough to get 60 in a couple weeks - but Ill be so far ahead of the wave by the time I relax that.. well.. I can relax - and go back to enjoying the game.

I remember originally this tank fantasy was going to be what wow used where DKs were going to be the magic tank. Never really panned out outside the top 1% though where they need the optimal tank.

WOW that didnt work (in part) because of their armor teir system - if a War with bis tank stuff 95% of the encounters, but this 1 u need a DK in BIS tank gear, that he wont have because he is not a tank any other time

Content, even on the top end isnt that "deep" so the 1% best tank kind of thing that WoW or FFXIV would have doesnt necessarily apply here. I'm thinking of it from the bottom end type of approach, where a poorly geared Inquisitor would tank a Magic Encounter better than a Fighter would simply because theyre innate skillset endows them with a higher magic resist, and higher aggro. Where as the Fighter would have to have more gear specialized in magic resist, and/or a proc weapon. Just spit balling, because I see the argument that its an "elite" mindset, but I'm genuinely talking about entry level because.. again, the content in the game is "sandwich-ey" and just not that hard.

I never level fast - EQ or WoW anything..m. My avoidance of the wave is to be behind it not in front like you haha.
I've leveled 1 character to the 50's, 3 characters to their 40's and the most recent I stopped at 28 because I just dont have it in me to do another character thats going to get wiped. The wipes just ruin my motivation almost entirely because even though I'm playing a game, and that is a waste of time in itself - I "really" feel like Im wasting my time in this version by going higher. After doing it that many times, I just want to get through those levels as fast as I can.
