I asked a cleric for a Rez… he then invited me to a group… apparently rezzing me made me an endentured servant tank.
The amusement came when the group just wondered and rolled up to a poor dude soling a named in AC, and was like “okay, PNP says he has to share the camp” another dude was like “yeah, we just have to do over 50% damage”
i was like “umm… i gatta go…but… I suggest you all just goto this other named thats not campped”
bros were about to learn the rules petition quest style lol

Sorry about that. Fell asleep like an old man almost right after posting last night.
Had a great group out in SGS around the henchmen/bodyguards. Nonstop mobs, exp flowing, everything nice and chill.
Out of absolutely nowhere some wiz in our group says “BTW I have zero simple medallions in my inventory, ZERO! FYI.” “And I’ve been here for hours!”
Rest of us just have no clue where it came from. Everyone, bar that guy, been chatting and having a good time. Couple folks just tell the guy to make a point to get up and loot instead of sitting there, which leads to him going off about how we’re all “loot hoarders,” and just leaves and gates. Over some trash loot that sells for 70cp.
Now, while it does seem less exciting this morning when I’m not tired and half drunk, we had a great couple hours after that nonsense bitching about how we didn’t have enough <insert random corroded bronze crap> in our inventory, and bashing that guy to anyone who came in as a rep. It really just felt “old school” or whatever you’d like to call it. It was a really good time.

I think what a LOT of the issues come down to…
Is… no one knows how to interact with people. No one talks or even picks up on social cues.
There is no automatic greed/need auto roll loot button. There is no group finder and summon stone. You sit camp and pull- you dont just Zerg around a zone. You should not pull over or through camps etc.
The players just do not know these things, they have zero frame of reference- while us old dads are super “wtf” because its like dealing with an autistic kid

I wonder how much of it is due to WoW and it's social model. In retail you never really interacted with anyone in the world. When id group for dungeons usually most people never talked. Might as well have been playing with NPCs.
I do think the loot thing will get figured out in time, but really people just need to set expectations up front with the group

I don’t get this one but maybe I’m just not the target market. I’d give a few medallions to my wizard honestly reward the dude for sitting on his ass Medding instead of running around loot whoring IMO
I don’t think this has anything to do with WoW I think loot whoring has been a thing since classic EQ it’s just more obvious after 30 years of watching people loot whore it up and everyone is older and more willing to call it out than when they were 14

A melee master looting and distributing to medding casters is relatively common practice in effective groups these days.
At a bare minimum people set up an alphabetical priority system for the highest value cash drops at any particular camp.
I can see EMU players getting pretty upset if a group is just freeballing looting. They're effectively getting punished for medding as frequently as possible to optimize DPS output.

This is hilarious, because it's been going on since day 1 of this genre. Even in the trusty old Everquest strategy guide from 1999, there's a few write ups of loot drama. A wizard ninja looted a Crysknife during EQ beta, and this author put it in the book lol.

I got permanently banned.
There were some herbalist nodes that were respawning almost instantly and the patch nodes said that they'd be more plentiful. However, to be fair, I thought they might be bugged, but I also thought it was possible that like some other games they could be linked and when someone else harvests a node it despawns and respawns somewhere else. I thought it might be possible that maybe me and another person (possibly more) were gathering nodes at the same time causing them to kinda 'bounce' back and forth.
I did it for about an hour and collecting a few stacks. I figured, at worst, even if they were bugged they'd take the materials back. Never in a million years did I think I would get perma-banned. I have literally never and I do mean NEVER cheated in a game or used an exploit in my entire life, but here we are.
Fuck it, whatever.
