I've no lifed this game this phase a lot. If there is one key thing I can tell you to make your life easier - if you're just trying to get exp and level (not really camp anything)... Camp Orcs. If you find an Orc camp with some drops you like, great. Whether its orcs in BTB, in EW, in KB, in SS, etc. They are BY FAR the most forgiving/rewarding mobs in the game in terms of loot/coin/exp/moderate health/moderate damage. Anything 3+ levels higher than you, of course be cautious. But every single camp Ive had with Orcs has went incredibly well compared to undead, ashira, goblins, etc. Camp whatever you like, sure. But in hindsight, my static agrees that we should have focused Orcs.

I think the medallions arent all that bad.. In a group of friends / static. I loot everything and split it evenly among us. They DID nerf coin with that change, though. Having medallions and shit like that shrouds the fact that they nerfed coin drops across the board. Its a lot harder for people to tell that theyre getting less money now - unless theyre attentive to whats happening. A PUG doesnt have that option and .. thats why its a poorly designed system right now. If we had some kind of Loot system that would roll it off to a random person. Or if loot rights alternated between group members - then it would be fine. But until they put something like that in, the coin loot is going to be a problem.

On that note - Since my static was with me for hours and hours all this time.. we've been comparing coin after the end of each session. The coin "Split" is not even remotely fucking even. No matter what kind of fancy system they "SAY" they have - its anything but. If I had to guess, its completely random. Its just SO obvious when you're boxing characters that people are getting the shaft on coin split.

I would follow Pasteton's lead on this. Even if you were intentionally abusing a fucking herb, not saying you are, but if you were - its a fucking herb. It was respawning, and to be honest with you - if I was doing alchemy, I probably would have taken advantage of it to. Completely oblivious to the fact that it would be considered cheating because... As you've said Grabbit Allworth Grabbit Allworth ... for as long as I can remember, the system has been in place (even though they say they changed it) that when one node goes down, another pops up. With three boxes, I can lock down entire areas of nodes (and guess what?) they still pop up when another is looted. It may have a "cool down" but there is ALWAYS a node spawning when one goes down.
Thanks. Always looking for good camps. Typically targeting undead because I have so many tools against undead and my dots do extra damage to them, but anything humanoid is good for me

Aye, undead are great because I have harmony, FD pulling is… annoying.

Where the heck are Orcs? I dont think I ever encounter orcs… but yes, many goblins… ashira…undead…bandits…

I just joined the Discord for the first time and scrolled back to the General Discussion from this morning and found a user named Slippy that got banned for the exact same reason. He gathered a bit more than I did and he thought the exact same thing in regard to why they were respawning so quickly.

Some people in the channel were extremely understanding but there were a few comments from the peanut gallery that actually make me hate humanity.

This dev team is crafting a nostalgia project with absolutely no clue what constitutes that beyond "HOW I FELT WHEN I PLAYED EQ IN 1999!!!". They're building a game for a world and gaming space that no longer exists and expecting the same results. You're better off not wasting mental space thinking about this and moving on dude.

At this point, for me, it's really not about the game anymore.

It boils my blood to be wrongfully punished and it being handed out by someone like Trent makes my face twitch.

I got banned from eve for scamming in jita. I would put in money into trade like 300b then change it at the last second to 300m. They said I was abusing a latency bug, I wasn’t. I was 100% in the right within eves rules. I argued the logic and how it did not require latency or bug abuse to pull off, referenced the times I did it outside jita, and got my ban appeal denied.
My friend who was also doing it sent them a message saying sorry and that we really loved Eve, learned our lesson, and would like to be unbanned. He got them to unban both of us.

just saying swallow your pride and message them nicely and they may unban.

I can't.

I simply cannot bend the knee when I did nothing wrong.

If I were in the wrong, I would have absolutely no problem admitting it and accepting my fate. I wouldn't even appeal the ban.

I was level 28 and truly enjoying the game and I'd like my account unbanned, but if I have to kiss someone's ass to make that happen;

Yeah, no.

game is still EA, a paying EA. mistakes do happen and more so on the dev side cause we are fucking paying to still test out shit.
So yeh I feel you but for this matter I would rather just let the game go. There are always better things to come elsewhere.

I PM''d Shawn and made my case in the general channel. He basically said STFU, email someone. In my response to the initial ban, I already stated that it was uncalled for, and should be reverted.

If it gets overturned, fine. If not, fine.

Prior to EA I had absolutely no exposure to the game (other than this thread) and was able to enjoy it. Largely, out of ignorance. However, this ban and going in to the Discord has soured the entire thing.

Well it is their game right? It's kind of concerning that they're so heavy handed about such a benign thing as herbs, right after a patch that they screwed up and had to revert.

Banned for a boon in herbs? They must be nuts. The few interactions I had in alpha/beta were mostly positive. I did most of the quarry quests at one point and the rewards were pure trash (still are from what I hear) and I thought for sure the quest had bugged out and given me the wrong reward, because one of them for a 2h weapon is actually decent and the quests I was doing were 50x the time investment where you have to mine a lot of quarry stones for rare quartz. So I petitioned thinking something had gone wrong, but they just shrugged. This tells me either they place a nutty amount of value in a 4 slot bag that's green versus the 5 silver 10 slotter everyone can buy by level 5 or they don't even play their own game and don't know the real value of anything, hence awful rewards for difficult or time consuming quests or getting banned for a boon in herbs...

I literally bottled AV in WoW during TBC and I got a 3 day suspensions. I think they just need to not go so heavy handed.

on topic for real though, I didn't know what I was arguing in the alpha chat was a node re-spawn classed as an "Exploit" ROFL...

Said it in game the other day, we are at a crossroads of EQ and WoW players where both groups have their own interpretation of how this game functions. Both groups have different expectations on loot, how nodes work, how resists work...ect...

I made a point to a dev that a person could reasonably play this game and exploit a ton without the intent to exploit due to the nature of other games and reinforced behaviours done in this game. They push this "Think outside the box" mentality and when people do...they get banned. I'm not talking "Stand on a wall and hit mobs that can't hit back" levels of retardation, I'm talking the stuff we are seeing today, reasonable use of game mechanics without terminal online syndrome applied.

Take for example the "Haggle" exploit of buying low and selling high...the game already established this is something thats intended in multiple fronts, having vendors sell at various prices, having faction that reduces prices, having haggle that alters prices....now it's up to players to find and put this understanding to effect. How are you, a non-dev, to know what is an intended VS unintended price before you buy and sell things? Asking this question solves a majority of "Exploit" questions

The team is so small, silo'd, and has so much to do -- I think that each person probably has a lot of free reign to do whatever they want until something goes out of bounds or grabs the attention of someone more 'important.'

From what I can tell, interpreting the rules falls entirely upon the GMs and, as GuardianX said, there's far, far too much subjectivity. Maybe it's just Trent going nuclear on people. Him suggesting that calling a Deep Elf -- "darkie" is an actionable offense is utterly ridiculous and suggests the rope for everyone (except the blessed few) is extremely short.

Even if my account gets unbanned I am going to be carrying around a scarlet letter. Every petition for a lost item, being trained, etc., is going to be viewed through the lens that I am an "exploiter" whose already been banned once.

its the point of it all. We all have some years under our belt, so should the situation be more cordial, maybe? But is the game in full swing to shut down players? Probably not. But of interest is did the early success get to their head to punish paying testers? Debatable.

But with all spike of success there is bound to have a decent amount of froth. So to keep themselves grounded and nice is on the court of devs, not us.

Shawn or not, just dont push it too far. Listening to his podcast can be enchanting, but it can also turn against the team all so quickly. Worth mentioning the truth is somewhere in between, they should remember that and tone down on high handedness.
