You can screenshot this:

I'm heavily leaning towards not renewing my sub because of Trent's conduct specifically. The "you looted too many herbs!" ban wave is a special level of retarded. At this point I've got to wonder if they are intentionally baiting players into exploiting (whatever their definition is that day). "Bake him away, toys!"

Collect them medallions.
You mean the ones the healers and lazy casters ninja? Ya.... that's a bright fucking idea. Let the people not doing the work aka the ones sitting at the fire make all the money. We all know if you ask they'll give you some afterall ( like 3)

The medallions are dumb, but I’ve not seen anyone but the tank and melee classes yanking most of them.

I’m a cleric and most groups I can spend a ton of time up hitting mobs so I get enough to feel like it’s fair, but I’ve certainly not seen a support healer or caster looting an absurd amount of them. Had a tank and monk last night that probably looted 80% of all the corpses before they even hit the ground. I didn’t particularly care because I won 2 greed rolls for loot and made a few gold, but it was very skewed towards those 2.

The medallion issue is real, especially since they weight nothing. The loot whores are all about it. Decisions like this are making it difficult to play.

I getting sick of this medallion shit as a healer cause its not good old eq days where you static a group from start to finish and split at the end. And now I have no cash for spells, it is not equitable.

It certainly needs to be addressed. The prices of literally everything being sold by players appeared to go up overnight. The lack of coin from kills is very noticeable.

If I’m LFG but just kind of hanging in NH at the bank reading auctions, I go to the cultists outside AC at night for the purple glow lanterns to sell. Even if I don’t get any, I was making around 15s per night cycle just off of coin drops and weapons. That is now like 2s. Just so meh.

I do not see why dropped money had to be transformed into a convoluted item tier that you still have to run around and play “what vendor wants this” game.

It’s not just medallions, different stuff drops different “money vendor food” items.

Trying to faction for city watch and red mantles - in the NH crypt and whew… this is going to take MORE time than the other factions.

But got a random group, killed this named skelly twice dropped chain wyrmsbane belt both times. Other non-named but “special” skelly - got cool shoulders and meh tunic… lost all rolls :(

I need to do the protect the archeologist dude once I am 22… at 18? The undead outside AC were difficult.

They have a very easy solution available to them, while keeping the medallions in. They already split coin intelligently (I think), so if a mob drops 1 silver and 20 copper 1 person will get 1 silver and the rest split the 20 copper. It should work just fine being totally random.

Now here's a crazy idea, just randomly dole out the medallions as soon as someone loots a corpse, if you're in the group, in range and have the space, you have a 1/6 chance to get any medallion. Over time, it'll be equitable. It will feel a little weird getting an item into your inventory without looting, but that'll pass.

Or they just go the other way and up the coin drop and make junk loot less valuable, I think everyone would be happy about this. Too happy.

I heard that the “mobs dont make change” and that is why the auto-coin share was jacked up… so if it was 1s and 45c, only the 45c was split 5 ways and 1 got 1s.

They could have… just… you know… gotten over their hubris on “not allowing mobs to make change” and kept things as they were.

And sorry, not sorry- if you “i cant carry 1234567 copper!!! Whhaaaaaaaa” you dont get coin loot, too bad so sad thats part of your class…monks…deal with it.

the experience is stark. Before the change everyone have a healthy purse of coins after 2 hours. After the change someone else have obscene amount of coins and runs off 'my rep is here'.
I know Shawn likes this group tension thing but there are already loot rolls to contend with. Or are the coins created for unspeakable tension for poor sitting casters have to go /suckoff the main looter behind trees semi covered with rich piles of fine wood while everyone can catch a nervous glimpse every hour or so.
All these while that fucking lvl38 rogue dwarf with half his balls sticking out and been camping pirates docks name camp watches the lvl20s and gently strokes his dagger.
tension indeed.

What it’s supposed to do is randomly assign the 1s but it sounds like their code sucks so it ends up distributing very unevenly

The problem with medallions is that its a very small piece of the puzzle that theyre trying to make. The back end of the idea is that they want a player to be able to haul goods from one city to the next. Buy low, sell high, kind of thing like AOC had, or Archeage for example. This was discussed in one of Shawns streams however long ago. Body parts off of beasts was the pressure point that needed fixing for a while now. So when they approached it, they decided to get the groundwork in for players getting involved with Commerce and Haggling by using medallions and body parts (drops that were of value, and would scale up as you level - along with your commerce skill). Notice other parts of the patch were fine tuning / changing those skills. That doesnt alleviate the problem of groups not splitting medallions evenly, but it does shed light on why they exist as they do now.

I'm not giving them a pass for putting the system in early in the form its in. But .. I can at least understand that their sights are set much further than some basic "friction."

My problem, personally, is that Hell Levels are fucking AWFUL. Starting at 39 for example. My enchanter and tank generally die more often than my Druid. My druid got 40 the other day and, comparatively - The druid was 4 yellows into 40 before the enchanter (the lowest) got a full yellow in 39. FFS, spread that sht out a bit more.

There's tension and just being a douchey. It's going into that territory for sure. It's not like spells are 1cp...
