Either that's what you meant or you are making an extremely pointless series of posts here. "This is a very well made movie with great acting and it had some meaning but the meaning meter only went to 3.5 instead of 7.8 like people think so therefore it's overrated."

Just not sure what you're saying then. It was about consumerism, masculinity and dissatisfaction with their place in society on top of the cool quotes and twist ending.

Now Sixth Sense would fit what you described. Without the twist at the end, which breaks down if you think about it too hard, it's a pretty boring and forgettable movie.

I'm saying it's an overrated movie. Keep in mind that's a relative thing and in no way disqualifies it from being good. Perhaps the people I've met deify it more than the people you've met. Think The Edge and the Matrix. I've seen the same treatment for Fight Club.

Fight Club is a better movie than the Matrix in my book, and I really liked the Matrix.

Less known but a sweet favorite of mine...and recommended for those of you with children...The Secret of Roan Inish.

I thought Watchmen was underrated. Most people I talked to thought it was boring, but I'd take that blue dong over any of the superhero movies that have come out over the last few years save a couple.

I thought Silence of the Lambs was overrated. I only saw it recently, and as I don't watch a ton of movies and don't know the context of what it achieved in its time, it's possible I can't appreciate it for what it is.

I think Silence of the Lambs is one of those that having seen everything that came after, I can imagine how the inspiration could seem underwhelming.

Watchmen was the last great Zach Snyder film. He was on a roll, too. Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen. I thought he just couldn't make a bad movie.

I have it on bluray (one of my first ever bluray purchases), but I never watched the bluray. Only saw it in theaters. I'll have to break it out this weekend.

Watchmen could have been good if it wasn't basically a cinemax after dark porno... The superhero related stuff was fantastic but I really didn't want to watch 45 minutes of porn and 45 minutes of other stuff when I bought my ticket for it.
