Couldn't get transfered from Sam's or Costco or wherever you were at before?

Check out warehouses. No customer facing, reasonable work, better wages, more consistent hours, always need help in the summer. Then you can decide what you really wanna do while you're making some decent money.
Both Costco and Sam's Club have a transfer service. The problem is the people running the various clubs don't want to take on someone earning more than the lowest amount. Sam's is a plane with extremely high turnover. It's easier for them to hire trash to fill a spot temporarily than take on a higher payed employee, unless you're in leadership position. At least that's my thought in the matter. Costco does transfers much better. They also pay more, so it's worth hiring internally first.

If you have experience in grocery stuff, HEB has cultivated a reputation of treating their employees well, unlike WalMart. They copied Walmart's distribution strategy where they build a large warehouse hub first then expand stores. It's how they originally competed with Walmart in Texas and, in many places, it lead to them taking a large portion of the market.

That reminds me, if you head up to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, you can check out Buc-ee's to see what all the hoopla is about. I still haven't been to one myself, so not sure if they are worth a 10min detour just to see, but they have a lot of buzz around them.

On the north end of SA now along the I-35 corridor near Schertz and stuff there is heavy logistics of stuff coming in from Mexico and heading up I-35. Lot of warehouses and associated offices for large companies like Catepillar and such. Not all coming in from Mexico but a lot being shipped East/West on I-10 and up I-35.

If you can weld high nickel super alloy steels in all posistions, pass a drug test, and consistently pass destructive and non destructive testing on your welds I know someone that is normally hiring all the time and their shop is semi air conditioned. Far shot but I thought I would ask. They get paid very well. Like 2 minutes or less from the SA city limits.

That's awesome. I grew up in sheet metal fabrication, but never tried welding during my 22 years with the company. I should have, but hindsight being a thing...
