Reviews are pretty mixed. Some folks love it and it's the best MMO they've played in a decade, others are getting bored with it already. Seems like the engine is nearly perfect and combat is solid. So, I'm sure it'll get even better as they add content over time.

Ultimately, it seems like YMMV.
I think it's still a solid game, but they really need to start fixing shit. That it'll be almost a month post release and no one can run end game portals and dungeons doesn't bode well.

In fact, almost all the fixes they've done in the two patches have been so minor that they likely wouldn't be mentioned in most patch notes.

I'm guessing they're doing some retarded agile development and are stuck on server transfers. Until they figure them out, their game is going to siphon players. Not because of people wanting to transfer, but because they seem to be expending all their effort there.

The current state reminds me a little bit of Vanguard. The early / mid game are great. After that, mostly unfinished / bugged / super-repetitive.

Zero end-game, whether its PvP or PvE. 20v20 outpost-rush / 5-man dungeon?! you gotta be kidding me.
End game is shattered mountain and elete 60+ areas. Some of which require multiple groups to efficiently do the lv 65 and 66 bosses there. There are quests for your 580 weapons which are long. There is also breeches there, lv 65, but azoth staff t5 is not working right now. But once thats fixed, those can be also farmed. And I believe will pose the most challenge. THere is also world bosses 65+ to farm. And what you said the lv65 dungeons.

Also part of end game is farming up mats for the 600 GS weapons and shit. And getting crafting there so you can actually make them. Shit like this...

Sure its not much, but there is some end game there.

Plus I have a feeling they will be raising the cap with a exp pack. Which will only add more end game.

That's great but the world loses its immersion and flavor fast. So, why keep playing? Getting more gooder item 2.0 doesn't do it for me these days lol.

People saying the quest system is bad are saying it subjectively. I don't know about most people, but doing absolute convoluted bullshit for quests is awful. Zapping some mob at low hp to transform it with some clicky shit? Pass. Escort some walking piece of shit who gets bugged on terrain or takes 6 minutes minimum for a quest? Pass. Even the aerial bombardment WoW shit got old because you knew you could only do it so fast and often in the later expacs you'd finish and then your fucking mount would do like 2-3 more strafes while you held your dick in your hand.

COULD the quests be better so it's all concentrated in Quadrant A, then sends to Quad B, then finished and starts Quad C? Yeah. They do it some of the earlier zones, but in the later zones it's just run to the side and that side and you don't know which one completes a faster quest chain and where the next ones go. That can be annoying, but that's where the faction boards are supposed to help. You kill boars and sheep and gather fiber and shit on the run maximizing your exp. Not perfect, but it's still better than getting nothing.

Quests are Kill X, loot X, interact with X and that's it. And at this point in my MMO career I'm 100% fucking fine with it. Quests haven't been interesting or novel since picking that key out of dogshit in TBC or the insane vending machine in Wildstar. I just don't care anymore.

I am enjoying harvesting and crafting the most. I am 46 and finishing all the quests in the starter areas at the moment. I use it for exploring the world and gathering T1 materials.
I have a lot of Wyrmwood, starmetal and other higher crafting material, but they feel useless and occupy my storage. The amount of T1 you need is out of balance imo. I am still enjoying it, but mostly because my gf/friends were away the last weekends and I enjoyed being a hermit. Probably will burn out soon, when RL is more interesting again.

Ok so WTF do you wan then? this is essentially MMORPG 101. Gooder and gooder shit farming. And then do it all again. Go play a fucking single player game, lol. Loses immersion? I mean WTF? Everything loses immersion if you ve been there for 200 hrs.

Look, game has issues, sure. 50+ was a drag. Lacking quests and shit. Some shits brioken later. Needs a balance pass here and there. End game is lacking? Sure, but there is still shit to do. And its not like this game has a sub so fucking put dowwn your mouse and revisit in a month or two. If not up to par then, fucking move on to some other game. Plenty there to be played. You have spent literally $40 for ~200 hrs of game if you got to 60.

Is it so hard to ask for... fucking content? Jfc they have old EQ people on their team, make some fucking dungeons. If you can't at least do that... then wait to release it. As it stands, there is fuck all and it's so eerily similar to VG it's not even funny. It's a wasted opportunity IMO.

I dont think thats the reason people ar bitching about thee quests. They are bitching because you dont pick up 10 quests in a hub, do your little round robin areound the zone, come back and hand them all in, on to the next hub. this games questing is disjointed. One quest will send you r as to area A, you run there complete the task, run back and then next quest sends you to same area to do it all again except kill different shit or whatever. Rinse and repeat. Its jsut disjointed, and travel in this game makes it worse.

LOL, they do have dungeons. Open world Lv50 LV60, lv 63, lv 65_ elete zones all over the fucking world. And thats not even counting the end game instances. I ran around for 9 hours clearing them last nigh and had a blast. Ready to do it again.

Any advice on Embossed Wrappings / Enchanted Bowstrings etc? I have a similar stockpile of the artifacts but none of the "Powerful Humanoid" legendaries

With that said, I'm going to blow up a spot because its too broken and everyone may as well get in on it before they nerf:

Spilaio Cavern area, 20 second run southwest of Mountainrise outpost. There are 2 lvl 62 silver elite named that spawn for a quest there.....

They have wild loot, and their ability to raise GS watermark doesn't seem to have a cap. We've been getting 560+ weapons/armor off them, and they seem to lean more heavily towards weapons. It's not really a top secret spot at this point and its probably a day or two out from going mainstream but figured I'd let the FOH boys in.

If you can get the spot to yourself, you can run direct lines between the two spawn points and the next named will be up by the time you get there. It must be a quest mob proximity spawn mechanic or something; if you camp in the chamber, they'll take 5-10 mins to respawn, but running back and forth between the two (maybe a 1 minute run dodging trash?) is basically zero downtime

One of them does some major arcane/void damage though, so be warned

Anyway my first question stands: ANYONE have a line on Embossed Wrappings? Sitting on 200 engi waiting to craft some of the gucci shit and cannot get a line on where to target farm

I’m only 55, and I still look forward to any time I get to play.
I enjoy the harvesting and crafting, even with the pyramid style they went with. I’ve run lower dungeons loads of times just to help folks and for weapon mastery and easy azoth. I enjoy the combat, fuck some ddr FF14 shit.
The travel is admittedly annoying af, but whatever. I’ll play until it’s not fun, and not a moment past that. I got my money’s worth by the first weekend, so I’m good.

All I know that the shit I have was dropped by Lv60 + nameds. It seems rare and random. Not sure about embossed wrappings, never had that drop yet.

edit: did a google and came up with his, not sure if helps lol. Better start farming...

Ah well shit, I had the one guy for the quest (Tzi-Wang) and I couldn't find him, but I kept seeing a massive group running around that area. Guess that's what they were doing.

The server transfers are going to be absolutely cataclysmic. They made owning territory way too beneficial. Every single server is going to have the 1-2 factions that don't have any territory transfer off. It's going to be a clusterfuck and I foresee much downtime, many bugs, and a lot of issues.
Yeah so much of the game just feels sorta ill conceived and half baked

You don't have to go out of the way to SS shit for me man! It's all good. If FF14 is any stick to measure off of, they have time to fill out the game and have it be successful. I'll wait and check up on it here and there.

Personally, PvE endgame means raiding (which requires at least 4 groups to complete), So if those high level open world elite area doesn't require multi-groups to complete, then it is just normal group content to me. PvP endgame to me should either be massive open world system such as RvR(WAR), WvW(GW2), AvA(ESO), or ladder style PvP. It should be available to an entire server to participant, instead of selected guilds/companies.

Does NW have endgame content then? To me no, but there are different definitions of endgame which is totally fine.
