The only problem with taking players from Alabama's defense is that it's sometimes hard to tell who the legit talents are, and which players are getting their stats because of talent around them. A dominant D-line can make your secondary look great, picking off and knocking down passes from a flustered/pressured QB, and vice versa with a dominant secondary giving the D-line extra time to wrack up sacks that might not have normally been there. Most teams have 1 or 2 NFL calibur guys on their defense at most, and they stick out pretty noticeably. Now Alabama probably has a legit half a dozen NFL guys on their defense at any given time, but not 10 or 11 like have been drafted in recent years. Some of those guys are only looking great because of their surroundings.

As a chiefs fan, I know this all too well. We have a history of drafting the coat-tail rider, not the actual talent. We drafted DL Ryan Sims in the first round about a decade ago, the guy next to him on the DL at North Carolina was Julius Peppers, taking all the double-teams while Sims wracked up easy sacks. Sims was nowhere near Peppers talent in the NFL

Well we are fucked against Arizona. Another offensive line player seems to be hurt

And they are being really vague on the injuries to Romo's back. Right now he may not play on Sunday
I like how everyone was all over Dallas' nuts 2 weeks ago as NFC Championship favorites. Won't get past first game of the playoffs. The Romo Curse continues.

That just sounds like the draft guys and coaches doing a shit job and looking at stat lines and not film to evaluate players. Stats can be so deceptive at telling you who is actually good, even on the NFL level, its not like baseball where the game can be broken down into solo play or one on one match-ups much more easily.

The idea that Murray's carries per game might INCREASE from an already staggering level due to Romo's injury does not bode well for this young man.

We might see a player death this year. He's going to hit the endzone on his 500th carry and just fucking die.

If it's just up to pain tolerance and it's up to Romo, there is no doubt he will play Sunday. Say whatever else you want about him, but he ain't no bitch when it comes to playing through pain - punctured lung, broken ribs, herniated disk, he's played through them all.

I wouldn't let him play though - Weeden can get them 2-0 or 1-1 in the next 2 weeks, and then they have a bye.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand playing Romo hurt, with the potential to end his season is not good. ( but they run that risk every game to be honest)

On the other hand, Romo needs to be on that field, and Dallas needs to make a stand because the Eagles don't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

Arizona's defense is going to skull fuck either Weeden or Romo if the Redskins game is an indicator, might as well as let Weeden get destroyed instead of Romo. Arizona is blitz happy and it seems like the Cowboys line doesn't understand simple blitz pick-up principles.

And yet they will both get about as far. The only difference is that Bears will get a better draft pick. Hopefully they will start looking at drafting QBs.

Playing weeden as a game manager with half runs, setting up play action and the rest being quick stuff to the outside to keep the D spread out is prolly a better bet for beating AZ than blitz-blind Romo who will decide to drop back in the shotgun every play as soon as they fall behind by 3 or more.

Ha Ha Clinton Dix seems to be doing ok, and I couldn't stand the guy when he played. It seemed like other teams were just picking on him all game. Green Bay scheme seems to compliment him well, but that's from a stat line. Watching a Green Bay game is worse than cancer.
