She definitely hit paydirt. That endorsement money has to be worth a ton.

RG3 with personal distractions should be quite a show. I already expected it to be a horrible season for the Browns (is that something that needs to be stated?), but I imagine this will make it so much worse for him.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread but as a 49ers fan I was cautiously optimistic after the preseason game vs. the Texans. Not for this year, but I feel like we may have improved in some key areas vs. last year which is a sign that the rebuild has a chance. The defense actually looked pretty decent, especially the secondary. Jimmie Ward is a pretty solid player. With that and the two first rounders on the D-line that definitely feels like progress and I think that the O-line is better as well. If Carlos Hyde stays healthy we should be able to move the ball on the ground as long as the passing game can do enough to keep them from stacking the box every play. That is not a given though. Gabbert looked pretty sucktastic and I can only assume that Kaepernick is worse. Also most of the receivers are like "who?". When an aging Torrey Smith and Bruce Ellington the kickoff return guy are the only receivers I've even heard of that isn't great news.

Anyway, I think 6-10 would be optimistic this season, but I feel like personnel wise we are moving in the right direction and a good draft could get us back into contention but of course we still have to find a quarterback somehow which is easier said than done. I think it was smart to forgo drafting a QB this year and addressing the lines though so we're not throwing a rookie out there on a team with a shit defense and no O-line or receivers though. There's a good chance we'll have a top 5-10 pick next year if there are any decent QBs available.

Dontae Johnson is going to be legit. I was singing his praises when he was a rookie and I saw him in preseason. I wish I cared enough to go back to that shithole site to pull the posts, but I don't. So, you'll just have to take my word for it that I'm Nostradamusing at a Gronkowski level.

I watched the first half of that game and Gabbert was all over the fucking place. You'd see a halfway decent throw followed up by 2 in the dirt. You guys might be in for a long season.

Yeah, he had some ridiculously terrible throws. I also forgot to mention that we are going to have a hard time getting pressure on the QB until Aaron Lynch gets back from suspension. Ahmad Brooks can get after the QB sometimes but he is no Lynch.

Nice write up on how the Chargers like to treat their first round picks. Doesn't even cover the bullshit like telling Weddle he can't fly with the team.

The Joey Bosa situation is part of a decades-old pattern for the Chargers

So, in assessing blame for the Bosa holdout, who is more likely responsible for the current contract impasse?

The rookie attempting to work out his 1st professional contract?

-or-

The organization that has endured contract disputes with more than 60% of their 1st round draft picks and has had a contentious political relationship with its home community since current management assumed control of the franchise in August 1984?

Also remember 49ers fans saying how much higher Kaeperbro's ceiling was than Alex Smith? Pepperidge Farm Remembers. Bet you guys would kill for someone as good as Alex Smith again.

Evidently Kaepernick can barely manage handing the ball off much less throw a pass currently.

I really think that the Kaep "dead arm" thing is just a smoke screen. He doesn't want to be on the 49ers and they don't want him there but he doesn't want to take a pay cut to go to another team and no team will pay his salary and the 49ers aren't willing to just let him walk since they have to pay him a shitload of money so it's a big Mexican standoff. I will be surprised if he ever starts a game as a 49er again. Right now I think the 49ers are just hoping that some starting QB gets injured and some desperate team decides to pick him up. Especially now that they signed Christian Ponder as a backup.

No one wants Kaeperbro as a QB. He is terrible. I think you are hoping and wishing man.

Denver supposedly offered him somewhere in the neighborhood of $6M and he wouldn't take it. Like I said, the only way it would happen is if a team without a viable backup lost their QB for the season and were desperate and frankly it would probably still be a mistake.

I'd argue that Jones is WAY more influential on the NFL though. I mean, the fact that he got a finalist nod before Bowlen kind of proves the point.

Got an alert about this on my phone and before I opened it, all I saw was "Cowboys owner Jerry Jones..." And I thought, holy shit, he must have died. Cause I don't get many alerts. Typically it's only when players are signed, released or suspended.
