Oh yeah, this is the best time to see how Winston compares stat-wise to the rest of the league. Looking at his stats, I may have been too harsh on my assessment on him and I think you're closer to being right on him. So I think its less him, and has to be the offensive play-calling. Bucs are 18th in PPG yet 6th in YPG. So they rack up a ton of yards, but suck at scoring. Maybe the coaching staff is good enough to adjust and fix things, or the team just will be shitty this year.

watched the whole game last night,
Winston imo is a better than average QB-potential is there to be significantly better. however, that game plan last night did him no favors, and that is on the coaches, he did ok, but 3rd down killed the offense until late in the game. until the last quarter, the entire offense played like crap. until that last drive, to me, it felt like the patriots controlled the entire game.
pats defense imo was VASTLY better, and that is on the game plan they implemented on the secondary, butler and gilmore were on the main 2 receivers ONLY no switching off due to motions, and that helped everyone else take care of everyone else for the most part.

Oddly enough, Folk on the year has missed 5 FG and 2 XP. If you add in those 17 points, Tampa goes from scoring 21.3 PPG to 25.5, bumping them up from 18th in scoring to a tie for 8th with GB. Lets assume Folk is a normal kicker and maybe misses 1 of the FG (the first one last night was a long one if I recall). Even with the 1 FG miss, they're basically tied for 10th in scoring with Detroit (24.75 PPG).
Just goes to show how a few missed kicks here or there really fuck up averages (at least, this early in the year).

Winston is an OK QB. Top half of the league IMO. Like you guys are saying he isn't getting help from the coaching as far as play calling. That Pats game there were 3 bad drops by his receivers that just stalled them.
if you remember, the year the pats had revis and browner, it took ~4-5 games for them to mesh too. (not saying that gilmore and butler are as good, but that it takes time to mesh)
