Have to ask the Chargers about that one, but since Davis is the "poorest" owner in the NFL the money is far more important to them. 70,000 vs 40,000 is huge when football is your only source of income and supposedly had to trade Khalil Mack away because they just couldn't afford the $10s of millions down his contract would have taken.
