Excellent, looking forward to winning another Cup.He'll look good/great in the regular season. Top 3 in wins, good GAA/Sv pct.
Then the playoffs will start and he'll look like a lower tier high school goalie.

You are using the old CBA with the old cap. As you mentioned Malkin is getting more, Nash signed in 2009 and is making 8.2 mill a year near the end of the contract and has worse production since he signed the extension, Perry is due to make 7 million this year, 9 next year and 10 million in a couple year, Getz makes 6.5 this year 8.75 next and 9.25.Yeah, you're right about Crosby's cap hit. But let's compare instead to Malkin, Perry, Staal, Getzlaf, or Nash. None of those circumvent the cap, and all of them are far superior players. I think you're crazy if you think that Kessel would have gotten more than that in the open market.
edit: whoops, Malkin's contract cap hit is only 8.7 until the end of this year, then 9.5
Meh, that's splitting hairs. Over the entire term of their contracts they're making virtually the same average salary as Kessel, but are much better players. I guess we'll see where the market starts coming in for equivalent stars, but I certainly feel a lot better about the Oilers locking up Eberle/Hall/RNH for similar terms for contracts that are a quarter less than Kessel's.Juvarisx_sl said:Perry is due to make 7 million this year, 9 next year and 10 million in a couple year, Getz makes 6.5 this year 8.75 next and 9.25.

Ugh that game winning goal Holtby gave up. Was glad to see the top line look so dangerous a lot of the night...later into the year I think ovechkin buries another one or two of those chances. Nice to see Grabovski have a good game, although I'm not surprised. Would like to see a lot more of us vs. Chicago this year.Well, Blackhawks definitely look like a contender for the Cup again
Between Hawks, Bulls and Bears - its a great time to be a Chicago sports fan.
its was pretty doucheyDid the Blackhawks seriously raise 4 banners tonight? Pretentiousness at its finest. I get the Cup and Conference.. but a Presidents Trophy banner? And Division? LOL
