Maybe Amazon is just trying to be a bro. I got mine this morning and put it in the corner. If I pick up Zelda I'll have three in progress but not finished. Good problem to have I guess.

not my video, zelda running at 20-30 fps on a medium PC (i think 3080?) under eglantine less than 24h after the ROMs were ripped. crazy. in 2 weeks it'll be fascinating to see where it is.

Amazon came through for me. Sat and watched the title screen and intro. Will dive in tonight but damn just that took me back to high school. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

I tried it out today on my 3070. First emu was just a black screen. It was updated a couple of hours later and now I can play ~20-30fps in the starter village. Tons of shader compilation on the fly though and it lags every time, so that sucks. I'm sure tomorrow it'll be fixed.
I spent an hour in Links starting village before even going to the Deku tree. I just had to stop and look at everything. So much detail. Amazing game so far. Feels like ‘98!

Tried it for about an hour, it does look and sound incredible and the controls are smooth and tight. This is the first time I've seen a 3D Zelda game and thought "Yup, this is what it should look like".

Just wrapped up Lord Jabu and honestly this is as close to perfect as I could’ve hoped for.
Hyrule looks incredible, Link’s outfit is so detailed, combat is simple and satisfying. Even the sound effect as the boomerang comes back to you is great.
Nintendo really knocked this out of the park.

Last ditch effort. We have a GameStop in BFE and sometimes they get shit and nobody buys it because of where I am. Checked to see if they had Zelda controller. In line. Two clerks talking to an obviously gay customer in front of me about how much “lore got dropped when my mom told me she was bi” followed by some sort of weird squee scream when someone mentioned the midterms and queer winning.

lol fucking perfect. Took the thing out of the dock, put the disc?/drive thingy in and booted it. Played the opening song and then the low battery light came on. Damn thing wasn't seated properly on the dock and never charged.

ok fired it up and ran around the starting village a bit. That screen on the switch is way too small for me. I'll put it back in the living room later. Beautiful game. I am showing my age here and have not had a Nintendo system since the 1st Wii (and that was for my wife) so , what is amiibo? Google says some toys or cards, wtf? This like a way for Nintendo to sell cheat codes or something?

Nintendo figured out they could double dip by selling action figures that could be scanned for in-game bonuses. Double the reason for kids to beg parents for them.

you can fake amiibos with cards or a portable amiibo device like the joy fusion, i didn't even know about this device until now and it looks cool
or pixl amiibo (i have this... somewhere lol)
i'm sure you can find both cheaper elsewhere too. works great, plenty of sites to download 1kb amiibo ROMs (i think both devices come with everything up until this year) and then you just put it on top of your joycons and it'll work like a real amiibo
OOC already running at 120 fps (60 fps in other spots) on a 5090 using 10 GB of VRAM lol
thats extremely unoptimized though, everyone expects it to be running at smooth 60 fps on pretty much any PC in a week or so. It stutters a lot apparently right now due to shader caches but the emulators will allow them to be shared so it should get precompiled/shared soon enough.
i played 15 mins on my sw2 last night, looks good, im taking it on vacation next week and probably be the only game i play in handheld.
