Amiibos don't really do anything useful in this, it's not like BotW. They all give the exact same reward, basically the same loot you'd get from smashing half a dozen pots. Only time I've used one is when I ran out of arrows hunting poes and didn't feel like going back to the store to buy more.

The Zelda Notes app is really useful though, I highly recommend installing that (ideally on a tablet, it's a bit awkward on a phone) just for the checklist of things you missed in each zone. In-game only shows what you found, not how many total there are.

OOC already running at 120 fps (60 fps in other spots) on a 5090 using 10 GB of VRAM lol

thats extremely unoptimized though, everyone expects it to be running at smooth 60 fps on pretty much any PC in a week or so. It stutters a lot apparently right now due to shader caches but the emulators will allow them to be shared so it should get precompiled/shared soon enough.

This is amazing, please keep this thread updated with any progress. I have the ROM but haven't tried setting up any emulators yet, because I doubt it would be a good play experience on my 3070 right now.

edit: also to note, this video is not being played on an emulator. It's a program called Hookshot that translates the game code to C and recompiles it run natively on Windows/Linux.

I fired it up in the living room this morning and got as far as the Deku tree boss. Looks great , runs great. I do plan to clone the ROM and try it on my PC when I've beaten it on the Switch. Frankly we got the switch so my wife could play with me and she's so tired at night she just watches shit TV and goes to bed. My biggest issue is muscle memory. These fucking A/B X/Y's being reversed!

Nintendo has backwards ass controls. I keep fucking up the jumping because of the button mapping

The most annoying control is sprint. Having to hold A instead of it just being L3 like most other games is retarded. Plus the camera doesn't track behind you if you change directions so it's hell to play on a controller without a back button mapped to A. Fortunately that's the only real gripe I have about the controls (after swapping jump to B too).
