i think the only game i bought was donkey kang (and pack in mario kart), everything else has just been trying old switch 1 games for an hour, going "yup... its faster..." and trying something else.

also trying all the nintendo switch online games and realizing playing 25 year old games in 2026 isn't that fun if you don't have any nostalgia for them

Yeah, Switch 2 hasn't been worth the $500 at all. I played Mario Kart (good but not as good as the existing one) and Metroid Prime 4 (meh and not as good as the existing 3) and then sodded off. The only other thing I even bought for the system is the BOTW remaster patch for $10. It makes the game not look a decade old but it's still inferior to the enhanced emulator version on Yuzu. At least it's legal and I can play it on the TV.

New donkey kong should be worth a play. Not sure that tips the worth it cost for you but the game isn't bad.

My 7 and 4 year old got a lot of milage out of switch 2. The 4 year old especially. He played open world in Mario kart world and got really really good. The system is user friendly. Ideal for single digit age folks!

i went on a 12 day cruise, no internet access (by choice) and bought a satisfye zengrip 2 (beatemup edition) before i left and played 15-20 hours of paper mario rpg during the time on my switch 2. i've tried previously playing a switch on vacation either in handheld mode or with a weird stand and a pro controller and never really found i could sustain it more than 15 mins, just weird angles or uncomfy hands.

zen grip worked great though, its basically just a plastic shell so kind of dumb but as most guys know, dumb and simple works well most of the time.

i got the blue/yellow one with the case (they have 10-15% coupons on all the time, prob can google for one) since once you attach it, the switch 2 won't fit into a regular case anymore

royal, and i get free drinks at the casino so don't ever blow money on drink/food packages. i'm too old to get drunk anymore, it hurts too much in the morning :(

nothing beats sitting on a ships balcony overlooking an infinite ocean playing mario rpg while explaining to your 5 year old grandson why mario represents the best of humanity and every man must have a peach to chase after

Buy a steamdeck for $500 instead. Hekotat Hekotat is selling a 1tb oled in our classified section. It’s fucking great, love mine.

How much more powerful is a Steam Deck compared to Switch 2? Can it be docked on a TV or is it a portable-only deal? Guessing it can play PC games and anything you can get on Steam. Maybe that'll be the next thing I go for if we don't get a PS6 announcement in the next year or two. I could use a nice portable system that isn't Nintendo.

The steam deck is a computer to play…steam…games…

There are docks for it, u can use Bluetooth KB-M and controllers etc.

It’s vastly superior in visuals to the switch, but its so apples and oranges imo…but yes

Switch 2 in docked mode is faster than the Deck, but slightly slower in handheld mode. The Switch 2 is better at ray tracing as Ampere 2nd gen > RDNA2’s. That said, Steam Deck has about a million more titles.
