So does the spam of big numbers and huge particle effects obscuring everything give you all a dopamine hit?

I guess I am just old fashion and get mine from bouncy cleavage.

If anyone waited and waited like me...

$5 for the upgrade pack out now, physical copy coming in April.

Nintendo really needs to add the option to install your physical Switch 1 games to console storage. The number one thing stopping me from buying a Switch 2 is that my Switch library is still hamstrung by the slow-ass carts. Even in a situation like this where they offer the upgrade you're still stuck with the base game on slow media. Not about to double dip on the physical re-release either, even though it is an actual cart and not their usual 'game key card' faggotry.

Xenoblade 2: Come for the huge particle effects and numbers obscuring everything, stay for the constant yelling clips from all of the characters all at once as you have 8 characters acting in battles. Good luck hearing the music over their cacophonous din of not being able to shut the fuck up.

This video really kinda nails it

*random explosion*
Squall “I knew that guy..”
RUN TO THE LEFT

lol

while true and humorous, that particular scene at the end was a technological leap at the time, blending live rendered actionable character models and the pre rendered FMV in the way they did - its like the 1 thing Ill give stupid crappyff8

FF8 I'll always have a soft spot for. It came out the first week of High School. The characters going to what was basically a high school / military academy was something I could really relate to.

....unlike now, when every third fucking RPG takes place in a Japanese High School or equivalent setting and it just pisses me off at this point.

Anyway FF8 was relatable, and Squall being so dour about being there was relatable (I did not want to be in High School, and nobody else did either). I remember the FF8 overworld theme being vividly stuck in my head while I waited for the school bus outside in frigid cold. Not sure why it was frigid cold in mid September. Then again, in HS they make you get up super fucking early every day, it's actually obnoxious. Having to get up for school at 5:30 or 6 is normal, or was in 1999 anyway. Always felt like it should have started at 9, like a normal job, instead of Homeroom being at 7:45.

To paraphrase American Beauty, it was great. We had our whole lives ahead of us. Now I'm just a jaded middle-aged fuck in poor health wishing I was back in that HS situation so I could lift more weights and make better choices.
